Fender Rumble Club

I am very tempted to add the Rumble 40 as well for a lower powered practice option. I hesitate to call it low powered, though...that amp is punchy and LOUD. I am certain it is the best 40 watter I have ever heard.

I bought the 40 for rehearsals and haven't looked back. I have a rig, as I'm sure most do, that requires the break down - multiple trip to load - unload - setup guise. The 40 eliminates all of that for me. Bass + Rumble 40 = let's rehearse.

Another Opening, Another Show.......

I've been absent from the thread for awhile - I thought I'd have some time off after the last show run, but a change of plans put me right back to work on another one. This is at a much smaller theatre, and there is no pit. I'm on one side of the stage with the guitarist, and the keyboard and drums are on the other side of the stage. Not enough room to use the tilt back legs, so a 2 X 4 is pressed into service to get some angle so I can hear (we're just using the amps as personal monitors, we're DI'd into the house system)... Here's a shot of the area the guitarist and I share. The monitor to my left lets us hear the keys and drums. The set between us is a recording studio, and every other diamond is cut out so we can see the keyboard/MD... PIT2.jpg

As usual, the DI works very well in my V3 100 - good clean sound and just what the sound guy wants. He sets the level and leaves it, and I adjust the volume to the tune with the Zoom B1X you see in the first picture. The director decided we needed an action shot taken from the stage through one of the cutouts, so here you go....

OK, TL;DR - If you haven't bought a Rumble yet, what's stopping you? Buy one today!!!!!

Well for you gents who have been asking what the v3 350 combo sounds like with a 15 cab. It's a match made in heaven. I picked up an older 15 cab (SHS dual port no tweeter with a 15 Eminence speaker in it, it cost me 2-10 speakers i had laying around. I couldn't pass it up.) It was the exact tone I was looking for. My settings on my v3 Gain and master 11 oclock, bass 1 oclock, both mids 11 oclock, treble 12 oclock and contour button engaged only. i play a 72 p bass (45-100 xl chromes) with older (1990) passive dimarzio p/j pick ups. It nails that 70's pbass tone to a tee. I will eventually get the matching v3 15 when I free up some funds. But I'm telling you a 15 cab and you will be drooling. So i must go get a napkin and clean the keyboard :)

Is the Rumble 40 really lighter than the Rumble 25?

Rumble 25 (8"): 21 lbs. (9.54 kg)
Rumble 40 (10"): 18 lbs. (8.16 kg)
Rumble 100 (12"): 22 lbs. (9.97 kg)

Specs from Fender.

Yes.

I have the Rumble 40. I was in a GC where they had the 40 and 25 right next to each other, so I lifted them both, assuming, as you apparently did, the the 25 was even lighter than the 40. To my surprise, it is not.

BTW, my 40 only weighs 17 lbs. That's without the cord.
