Hey Rumblers - I need some help also.

I just had this happen and wonder if something is wrong. Was at a friend with my 500 in above pic and he had the master volume up to about 9 and I then noticed The gain was off - but still sound.

If the gain is off and the master is up should the map still play, I thought if the gain was off so was the amp.

Thanks for any help!!!!!!!!

Normal for rumbles. The gain is different than usual, think of it more like a gain range, rather than a gain that starts at -infinity.

Where will you get that small amount of cloth grill?

I want to dress up an old Eminar tubester and can't find a small amount of cloth. Or a small metal grille as an alternative either. :(

Well "Mojo Tone" here in the states sell the smallest amount of fabric that I have found sofar. As for the metal grille on the cabinet - a local metal fabricator here in town cut those for me and I may go to a metal for the amp box also.

We discussed this a lot in 2014 when the V3 Rumbles were brand new. Many people didn't know the different between a channel volume control and a gain control. If you had a channel volume control shut down you would have no sound no mater where the master was set. What you have is a gain control. With the gain set at ZERO you still get volume from the Master. This is the cleanest setting. I would suggest you search out the 'Rumble Talk Links' and read the in depth learning provided there.

Thanks I am used to the GK type arrangement - no gain no sound.

Thanks again

Mommy took it. Now the big brother has it.
No. Gail took back Frank's SG, and some other guitars. The stage burnt Jimi strat that was given to Frank and in turn given to Dweezil when he was teenager is still his. Dweezil is the Big Brother. His sister Moon Unit is the first born. Ahmet is third born and left in control of the Zappa Family Trust along with little sister Diva, by their late mother Gail Zappa. Whatever fallout between mother Gail Zappa and Moon Unit and Dweezil is secret Zappa family stuff, although more and more is becoming known in a dirty family feud.

Most bass amps are like that, not just gk. Rumble gain knob is pretty much like a pad, but adjustable. I just wish it had more range at the top end, as to be able to get a little crunch without having to use the overdrive. Wish my swr didn't get stolen, but I know my b600h gets a nice drive when the gain is cranked.

I didn't use vintage much because the 400hz low pass feature turns me off, but next time I am going to try to see if I can get it to grind a bit without the overdrive on. I don't have the luxury of being able to do that at home.
