The 500C has three circuit boards: the pre-amp (with the pots and tone controls), a board with all the connectors and the power amp board.
By swapping out the power amp board for another type you get a 40, 100 or 200.
And by swapping the connection board with one which has angled connectors on the long side (instead of mounted flat on the board) and a different case, you get the 500 (or 200) head![]()

Glad I'm not the only one.And it bypasses the whole front end of the amp, volume and everything... So make sure sure your iPod/phone isn't at full volume when you hit play.
