Fender Rumble Club

I always had a problem using just the 4x10 on stage as I couldn't hear it, the sound would just rush past my knees (and it was too heavy to take to rehearsal - I'm an old guy). Adding the 115 seems to spread the sound better.

I noticed a recommendation to tilt the 4x10 back so you could hear it better, but I don't like that solution. The 4x10 configuration is possibly the most directional of all arrays and tilting it back fires the sound out above the heads (and ears) of your audience. So while it would sound great to you, your audience would not be hearing the same sound. Tilting back works for rear-facing monitors but you will never see a pro rig with a tilted-back back-line.

The better solution is to raise it off the floor closer to your ear level. As little as 300 mm would help, 500-600 mm would be better. Stacking it with another cab as you have done, does exactly that.

Or if you want to just run the 4x10, a US$20 folding suitcase stand would rock your world.

Yes, exactly that. I tried the tilt last gig and the sound guy kept looking at me all confused. Afterwards he said my sound was really different and not great for the room. (We've played there a lot and with the same sound guy, who is also a bassist). The 4x10 on top of the 115 will have the effect of raising it though its an expensive fix.

There's no doubt that the 500 can hold its own against some pretty loud bandmates. I've been GASing for an extra R210 cab to go with my 500 combo, but the truth is I don't really need it.

When i got mine it was because i wanted it... not needed it...

Ok guys, they dropped the video of one of my bands( Sugawood Music) playing LIVE in the studio that was recorded about 2 months ago. I used my 2015 Fender American Standard Jazz and Rumble 500 head and 210 v3 cab running out of the DI on the amp. I had no idea how it sounded in the booth/board and only heard a rough mix play back on the monitors in the room. The bass sounds a bit more aggressive in the mix than it does in the room through the cab. Our segment starts around 13:40. Be kind, the Rumble and bass were new to me and this was our new drummers 4th time playing with us live in front of people(camera crew in this case). No over dubs, no fixes, all the warts and mistakes.

Well,I've got an issue with my 500 combo. Have had it about a year, maybe less......play out once a month or so, never any issues. I went to engage the Overdrive last night, and it just comes on full blast....as soon as either level or drive is turned up even a tiny bit, it just slams out maximum overdrive at maximum volume. I don't use it much, so no biggy.
Have any other Rumble owners had issues with the Overdrive?

Greetings my fellow Rumblers! You all are doing just fine. Keep it up. Five years ago I had a serious heart attack and have been given the gift of five more years of good life. Right now my heart is saying 'Goodbye'. Can't even get an appointment with a cardiologist at the Salem VA hospital. So no real medical update to give you all. They will probably see me a month after I'm dead as that is the way with America's only true socialist medical system. After all, I am 351 years old in rock 'n' roll time, and Kieth Richards outlives another one! Rumble On!

Dammit, I didn't need to have another reason to be angry with with VA. Have you used the Patient Advocate service? You know how it is with govt. agencies; you need to utilize every convoluted process of the system in order to get anywhere.

Best wishes, and now I'm going to play my Rumble some more.

I had an issue with my first Rumble 500 head, the OD channel stopped working all together. I swapped it for new one. And no issue with that one.

You do have a 5 year warranty.
