Fender Rumble Club

So. Give me the honest low down on the Rumble 112 cabinets. What other specific 1x12 cabinets have you compared them to and how did they compare?

I have decided that my next setup will be a modular 3x12 setup so I can use as many or as few cabs as I need. I want them to be smallish very lightweight cubes. I'll be honest, what I want is 3 Mesa Subway cabs but I just can't see spending $2000+ on cabs to play cover songs in a bar.

So, how do they honestly compare to other 1x12's?

I cannot compare them to other 12's as I've not put serious time into any other cabs, but the V3 112 is a great sounding, light weight, wallet friendly cabinet. The best I can say, find one at a store and try it. You could also order one from GC or other locations and return if you're not happy. Only your ears will know if you're happy with their sound. Me, I'm thrilled with mine!

I've got two of the new 112 cabs and am happy with them. Never tried a five string with them.

About 10 years ago I had an avatar 212 that sounded fine but the Rumbles sound as good together as that cab.

Not compared them to other 112's though so I can't advise.

They're not for everybody, just like 10's don't do it for me. The Rumble 112's are crazy good. So many have testified such especially when used under a Rumble 200 or 500 combo. Fender & Eminence have most certainly outdone themselves.

I have the new v3 1x12. absolutely floored with the sound combined with the v3 500C. I had 3 other bass players run up on break and ask what I was using. It was an outdoor gig to boot.

Run a search. @honeyiscool dumped a pair of Aguilar neo 12's in favor of the Rumble 112's. @bdplaid has used a pair of Rumble 112's as a mini-stack almost exclusively. Do you prefer the sound of ceramic-ferrite magnets over neos? Just order some and enjoy the intense pleasure and personal satisfaction that is Fender Rumble!

I have compared the Rumble v3 cabinet to the Bergantino HDN112 and the Mesa Subway 112. First let me say that all three are great cabs and I'd be happy with any of them, and everything is IMHO.

The HDN112 has the strongest low end and is very balanced and clear. It is also the easiest to move. The single recessed handle and extra feet opposite the handle make it easy to carry and set down. It is also the most expensive of the lot by a good margin.

The Subway 112 is fairly mid-forward to my ear and would take a boost in the bass and a taming of the midrange to sound balanced. The spring handles and the depth of the cab should be considered. Still, a very high quality and good sounding cabinet.

The Rumble v3 112, again IMHO, is a great value. It is balanced, and has a full low end that isn't boomy. I play a 5-string and the cab has no problem handling the B string. The two recessed handles make for easy moving. Two or three of these, depending on your volume needs, should serve you very well.

Rumble on,

Bob

What have your experiences been with stacking a Fender Rumble 200 1x15 combo and the Fender Rumble 1x15 extension cab? Also, does the combo fit properly on top of the ext. cab sideways?
They're perfect together as they are the identical Eminence 15" woofer in each. Yes if you lay the combo on it's side they match up together. There are photos of such plus reviews and testimony scattered throughout this thread.

I went ahead and set it up like this for you to see. Don't ask how it sounds though; I still haven't gotten around to plugging it in yet with the 115. I really need to do that......:D

Mostly, I have it for the extra power. How it looks isn't going to matter to me on a tight cluttered stage in the dark. The 200 alone will get 99% of the jobs done for me. If I were going to run it like it is in the picture, I'd put the rubber feet on the side and reaffix the logo. I might just do that anyway. It is easily reversible.

Hey @GregT give us a quick shot of the combo sideways on top of the cab (in normal orientation). Also hook 'em up, and give your neighborhood a little bass concert! Time the arrival of the cops. ;) :roflmao:

Here you go! Like I said, on a dark stage, I would probably just run them like they came, but who knows?!!

Then I plugged it in. First with just the combo. Great! Sounded like it always sounds. Plenty of everything. So I thought..... When I plugged in the 115 cabinet, it just came to life! Same amp, but it was like it had grown up and its voice had changed. It sounded huge. If you never hear the two together, you'll have no idea what you are missing. Ignorance is bliss, as the saying goes. Once I heard two fifteens together, I knew! I was enlightened! I can't unknow it.

... as in, peg the bass dial. I have one of those cabs and while I think it's a good mate to the subway 115, it's terrible on it's own. IMO.

I have used the Rumble 112 as a single and as a pair. Great either way, often the single 112 is better as it's just as tight and deep low end as a 15 without the boom. I do worry about blowing it some time, but so far so good, and I play on the loud side. two 112s, no prob, but can get a little boomy, then unplug one. they replaced my GK NEO 115s, which I used to love, and have sold/are selling.

edit: edited because I apparently lost my mind while composing earlier.

Wow, gorgeous!! If I pick up a 1x15 I'll just flip the combo sideways and relocate the logo! I've been running the Rumble 200 for a while and it's handled everything well. I've played some acoustic/ballad type gigs and some small rock/metal gigs with PA support. I get asked to do some really loud metal gigs sometimes, so would the 200+115 stack cut it on a loud stage?
