Fender Rumble Club

Hey Kids:
Clubs are not locked to people who aren't members. Anyone can come in here and post, as long as they follow the same rules all members are subject to anywhere on this site.

Just a quick word on the uninvited & inappropriate postings by Low Class hawking/shilling another brand, and that they are unappriciated. I do hope that none of us go into other people's clubs telling them how much better Fender Rumbles are than their amp of choice no matter how true this may be.

I am happy to hear how much the 115 cab is loved by some. I use my Rumble 350 head exclusively now on live gigs and Im just GASsin' for a nice 115. I am tempted to try out the 200 combo but having the 350 now and really loving it, I might just be best served getting into a Rumble 115 cab and maybe add another in the future. I am very curious though, how the 350 compares to the 200 or 500 heads. I know the power ratings are different but I think in terms of tone it would be fun to A/B. I suppose I could pick up a 115 ext. cab and a Rumble200 combo and do a comparison between the combo and the 350 head with the 115. If anyone has already tried this, lets hear it!

So the V3 410 has One 1/4", One Speakon inputs on the back. The Rumble V3 500 amp only 1/4 outputs. So my question is should I use the 1/4 to the speakon or 1/4 to 1/4? Or does it really matter?

Thanks

Shaun
This was another thing that baffled me in Fenders design decisions (Besides the lack of a 210 cabinet and no mute button on the amp heads) The cabinets are to be used with the head but the heads don't have SpeakOn connectors. Anyway, I just use the 1/4.

Unappreciated?? I've been playing over 40 years and have owned more gear than probably most people on here added together from Walter Woods on down. I've also been a TB member since the beginning. I owned a Fender Rumble 500 head a couple of months ago and came on here and praised on how it good it was for the money. After gigging with it a couple of times I realized it sounded like a low end head and the lack of pro features(like the DI) just made it unacceptable. Ya'll want to pay $399 and less than what's it's worth? Go for it. Or you can at least appreciate the opinion of someone that's been doing this a while and pay $399 for a head that's worth more and that a pro would rather use. I know other pros besides myself that have dumped SVT's, GK's and Mesa's for the KXB500. Not using it as backup, I'm talking about dumping them!! I only came on here to inform those that are amp shopping that there is a better alternative. Inappropriate?? THAT IS WHAT TALKBASS IS ALL ABOUT!!! btw, I'm not a Kustom rep. Are you a Fender rep Linnin? From the way you are hawking and shilling Fender Rumbles it is hard to believe you are not! Have a nice day!!

What's the deal with the DI?

What's the deal with the DI?
The DI in all of the Rumbles is after the master. It is technically an XLR line output as opposed to a true DI. (See posts many pages back in this thread. I owned my 150 v2 for over a year before I found this on this thread.) So it works fine but adjusting your main level during a gig will change the FOH. it is not a huge deal for most venues if you keep that in mind. For large venues it would be a problem. What is confusing is why Fender engineered it that way when they could have easily engineered it correctly.

I gave my Rumble V3 200 Combo a makeover today. Just thumb pinned the material into the inside of the screen. Remove the pins, and the material comes off and it looks like new again.

Thats cool. I think a lot of guys actually like the original look but yours looks cool too. And you don't have to live with it either. You can change it and you can remove it or whatever. Very nice!

How about you guys? I've posted a picture of my Rumble 350. What do you guys think? Should I go for a Rumble v3-200 combo ooooooorrrrrrr do I go for the 115 ext. cab with the hopes of doubling in the future. The new Guitar Center in Times Square opened up around the corner from where I am working today so now maybe tomorrow I should go in there and see whats happening with the Rumbles. Maybe I'll come home with one.
