Well I'm afraid I'm going to have to give up my Rumble Club member number #163 because I sold my Rumble 500 head.

I'm sorry to tell you guys that since I have moved on from the Rumble 500 head I have found a head for the same price that is much better than the Rumble. The Kustom KXB500 for $399 is probably the best head I've ever heard at any price and doesn't lack the pro features that the Rumble 500 does. It also has the 5 year warranty. Anyone seriously considering the Rumble 500 head should check these out.

I bet Linnin is not going to like your post... ;)

Only difference between KXB500 and 500H I see, are clip indicator and tuner send. Does it have a DI? That's the one feature I would like to have on my Rumble.

Yes it does with pre/post selector and DI volume control. Also has a mute button and a speakon connector as well as 1/4".

For my $399.00 I will go with the Fender. Just personal preference and reviews of each brand here on TB.

Just a quick word on the uninvited & inappropriate postings by Low Class hawking/shilling another brand, and that they are unappriciated. I do hope that none of us go into other people's clubs telling them how much better Fender Rumbles are than their amp of choice no matter how true this may be.

Ironic username to post ratio, lol.
Yeah, though unless Low Class is a Kustom rep, it's ok to say that you've found something that you like better, and thanks for the memories. But, as we all know, "better" is in the ear of the beholder.

I have a hand-made, picked the slabs of exotic wood myself, involved in every step of the progress, and feels like home in my hands bass.... But my Squier PJ with SD pickups kicks my ass!

It sounds f'n great!.... To me!!

It's all relative.

I'm not going to get too upset set someone prefers a different brand. We all got here from somewhere else - in my case, I sold an Ampeg Micro VR/210AV to fund my V3 100, and had a couple of bucks left over. I will say this about the Kustom - there had to have been a reason why the GC/MF group of companies blew those out at under $200 a couple of years ago. I picked up a Deep End 115 Neo in that fire sale for $99! I'm not saying there's anything wrong with them, but GC et al doesn't give stuff away at those prices for no reason at all. Just my $.02 in the matter. Happy Rumbling to those of us left, which are many!!!!!

Unappreciated?? I've been playing over 40 years and have owned more gear than probably most people on here added together from Walter Woods on down. I've also been a TB member since the beginning. I owned a Fender Rumble 500 head a couple of months ago and came on here and praised on how it good it was for the money. After gigging with it a couple of times I realized it sounded like a low end head and the lack of pro features(like the DI) just made it unacceptable. Ya'll want to pay $399 and less than what's it's worth? Go for it. Or you can at least appreciate the opinion of someone that's been doing this a while and pay $399 for a head that's worth more and that a pro would rather use. I know other pros besides myself that have dumped SVT's, GK's and Mesa's for the KXB500. Not using it as backup, I'm talking about dumping them!! I only came on here to inform those that are amp shopping that there is a better alternative. Inappropriate?? THAT IS WHAT TALKBASS IS ALL ABOUT!!! btw, I'm not a Kustom rep. Are you a Fender rep Linnin? From the way you are hawking and shilling Fender Rumbles it is hard to believe you are not! Have a nice day!!

Ok..... What about this setup.

Fender Rumble V3 500 Amp Head
Fender Rumble V3 410
Fender Rumble V3 115

Does this match up well

I've been able to spend some time with the Rumble 115 cab, and I must say, I would have high expectations for the 500-watt head with two of the 115's. The 410 is probably great, as well, but I know that I like the 115. :bassist:
