Yes it is a multi-effects unit and yes I do believe it is better than the various Boss units. I bought the ZOOM B3 due to it's reputation for clean & quiet digital operation. I wanted studio quality digital reverb, and high quality phaser/chorus/flanger capability. The ZB3 has some excellent amp and speaker cabinet models, and some are using it as a pre-amp into a power amp. Plus various dirt boxes of all kinds. It's a couple of years old now and something new is due, but I don't know what. All multi-effects are a challenge to learn and set up your customized settings and patches. You also have the capability to record direct to your computer via USB and included software. It will drive your headphones, and you've got a handy XLR out. There are a couple of threads in the effects sub-forum dedicated to ZOOM B3 settings and patches. It's a whole lot of good sounding capability for $199.Hey brother is this a multi effects pedal? Just wondering , I've been looking at a boss m-20 effects pedal. I usually play a chorus pedal ( stomp ). Wondering is the ZOOM B3. better quality than the boss? Is it easier to use . A major consideration for me . The simpler the better.
I'd have to spend twice that much to get a dedicated digital reverb such as Iron Ether or Source Audio, and say a Source Audio Orbital Modulator for the phaser/chorus/flanger unit. Since I am not recording, I don't really need more than I already have. True studio units are in the thousands of $$$.
