Fender Rumble Club

Hey brother is this a multi effects pedal? Just wondering , I've been looking at a boss m-20 effects pedal. I usually play a chorus pedal ( stomp ). Wondering is the ZOOM B3. better quality than the boss? Is it easier to use . A major consideration for me . The simpler the better.
Yes it is a multi-effects unit and yes I do believe it is better than the various Boss units. I bought the ZOOM B3 due to it's reputation for clean & quiet digital operation. I wanted studio quality digital reverb, and high quality phaser/chorus/flanger capability. The ZB3 has some excellent amp and speaker cabinet models, and some are using it as a pre-amp into a power amp. Plus various dirt boxes of all kinds. It's a couple of years old now and something new is due, but I don't know what. All multi-effects are a challenge to learn and set up your customized settings and patches. You also have the capability to record direct to your computer via USB and included software. It will drive your headphones, and you've got a handy XLR out. There are a couple of threads in the effects sub-forum dedicated to ZOOM B3 settings and patches. It's a whole lot of good sounding capability for $199.

I'd have to spend twice that much to get a dedicated digital reverb such as Iron Ether or Source Audio, and say a Source Audio Orbital Modulator for the phaser/chorus/flanger unit. Since I am not recording, I don't really need more than I already have. True studio units are in the thousands of $$$.

Ok.. i recieved the Combo and the cab.. i am still fiddling with it.. at first, i was not much impressed.. but i think with the Vintage and the Contour buttons engaged. Things have improved.. though, there is some needs to attend too.. I will call Fender on monday

I know you got the 500c, but did you ever say which cab you got with it?

I only have the Rumble V3 100, but I also prefer the Vintage/Contour combo. You say you weren't impressed. What's it sound like?

It is Roger, and very well received. I have a zoom B1xon, which is very inexpensive ($50 b1on no pedal, $75 b1xon with pedal). I feel that one is a good learning tool. I think I'll get a b3 next, then a dedicated other pedal or two. If you search zoom in the effects section, you'll find some mega-threads there. I think with the b3 you can share patches electronically.

Edit: oops, forgot to check there was another page of posts...

Sir Linnin, there is a newer guit ped out and the hope was there would be a new bass model similar. I'll see what I can find... Not looked formonths at any pedals, except the oil can :D

Ha, not sure which, but the G3 or G5n, zoomers were hoping to get ther G out of one and add a B.

Somebody in another forum a while back mentioned about speakers 'breaking in' if they are relative new, don't know much about all that but it do seems my r210 cab is sounding better all the time, hope that's all it is. GL.

They "break in" by working the suspension and it softens a bit. Most of this happens in a matter of hours and the rate of change declines as time goes on. I break in speakers with an afternoon of music playing through at moderate volume for an afternoon. I'm sure it varies by the properties of the suspension, but my gut feeling is you are 90% there after 4 or 6 hours on most drivers.

I should clarify, by music playing through, I mean I plug them into a stereo and play them in open air. I usually pull a woofer out and plug in there. It gets the full signal, but it sounds better with the mids and tweets. You probably shouldn't really crank it hard open air.

This is not so important on an already built cab; it will break in itself through normal use. I break them in because I am testing them after break-in. Everything mechanical breaks in, wears in and things seat and seal better. Many people now believe normal use is adequate, if not best. Hot rodders will fight over that like it's something important like mixed cabs or wattage ratings :D

500 combo with and the 210 ext cab.. i find that the vintage button is helping.. the horns are turned off.. there is enough brightness in 10s that there is no need for horns..

I like the vintage and contour engaged I've also turned on the drive but kept the level low and really liked what I got. Although the big boy ice tea could have been a factor in my reasoning

Got my first rumble yesterday, a 500 combo. I've been playing it side by side with my Ampeg BA115 this afternoon. I used to think my Ampeg sounded good. Next to the Rumble it sounds so hollow. No Growl, even after I adjusted the eq. Wow. I'm a believer now.
Welcome, Tulsa Teddy. I am on the road and don't have the list with me. I'll have your number Monday morning. Sorry, I didn't bring the computer the list on.

While moving some stuff around today I stumbled across my '64 Hofner Violin bass. So I put it through my Rumble 200 combo sounded very nice , though I am still very happy with the Precision . Maybe when I get older and the Precision's weight gets to much, I'll go back to the Hofner 500/1 :).

I just pulled the trigger on a Hofner 500/1 '64. It should be showing up Wed.
