Fender Rumble Club

My ibby sr 600, and my old bxr 300c she's old but in true Fender style she'll still knock paint off the wall
Main diff between 500 and 600? My 500 is older (sans mid toggle, but mik and wenge), Bart mkI, is the 600 the nordy? Too lazy to do my own research right now, my Ibby came scratch and dent from.GC for 2 bills in 2010, couldn't pass it up at the time.

Barts, bought new around 650 before case. Not a bad bass would like to have nicer but I wouldn't be able to play it any better.

one more for Fender Friday

So I took the 200 back to the store tonight. Sigh, they were too busy to really look into it. They'll let me know tomorrow. If they had a 500 I would have just taken that with me, but there isn't any in stock. I think there's only one in the entire chain of stores in Canada! Not one rumble extension cab to be had either. Strange. I'll have to decide weather to order a 500 or not. Sucks.

So I got to play this beautiful place last night. We got to play there 2 weeks ago for the "Sing Out Loud Festival " being held in my home town of St. Augustine. Last night was a last minute show, but I was so glad to get invited. This is the Colonial Square on St. George Street. A magical place.

The Rumble 500 head and 210 cab had no problem filling the space with love. The other bass player was very interested in my rig, he had a boat anchor of a 410 Ampeg cab and head, sounded great with his upright, but what a PITA to load in and out at this venue. I'm going to try and meet up with him later so he can give my rig a go and see if he might want to join the club.

Any company can spend all the money they want on advertising, but nothing is better than "word of mouth" advertising. Cool!!!

Fender Rumble V3 ~ A Hidden Magic Feature For B String !?!?

Here is the story begin.......

I bought an used Ibby SRFF805 multi scale fanned fret a month ago, it come with Good B tone than others 34' scale 5 string i have play, especially compare with ibby SR 305,505,605,705, Yammy RBX/TRBX 5 string and some Fender MIM 5 string jazz, Squier VM5 jazz .....
The SRFF805 sing very well with Stock roundwound string , but i am Flatwound guy and not impressive with DR Legend(38"winding length ) tone. Last few week, i bought a set of Payson FF Groundwound string , this string is design for Dingwall, i though it sound great and smooth string surface......BUT, unfortunately it sound so-so, all tapered string slightly out-intonation to flat side and The B string is muddy, less focus and lack sustain compare to E,A,D and G.

Even how i tweak onboard preamp and Rumble V3 200 combo setting still no use in this few week, i already give up with this Payson string and decide place an order for Ken Smith Compressor (i need smooth string surface).

Yesterday, just me alone at my home, suddently got mood to crank the Rumble V3 with my Pbass crazy. After playing, i just leave the setting until i plug my SRFF805 in V3 200 again after dinner. I set everything back to normal, BUT, accidently i press the Overdrive foot switch.

The Magic is appear, the Payson's B string sound transform better focus and tighter(Still not as shine as Stock B string), meanwhile the G string sound bigger. Overall tone is less warm but with little MID heavy push.

Here is the picture i shot for the setup, All button Off , and Horn Off for disappear the Distortion.

Tighten Low B setting.jpg

Hope this setting help for 5 string member, and 4 string member who feel their E string sound little muddy.

Enjoy !!!
