Fender Rumble Club

I do too. We've had a very lively discussion of Gain Structure not that long ago, so search that out.

Typically only death metal crunkcore sludge mongers run their gain wide open along with their heavily distorted drop tuned mud gates.
For amps unlike the rumble, I ran my gain pretty high along with a high mid boost around 800-1k to get that geddy Lee type grind. Worked on most amps, my swr350, acoustic 600, and various ampeg svt/svt pro amps I would encounter as back line. No grunge mud gate, just bass to amp, and that cool mild overdrive we all love for aggressive rock playing. It works for geddy. For the rumble I have to keep the gain much.lower or else the overdrive is too gainy.

I really wanted to get the drummers #, go back one more time, but I decided it was not worth it, and I told the singer tonight on the phone that the drug issue was really not comfortable for me, and I was surprised that he understood and said no hard feelings.

So close yet so far. And it is a shame. I am sure the drummer is functional and responsible, but the other 2 aren't. Hopefully he pulls out of that rut :(

Will answer any questions about rumble 100 v1 impressions, or my 112 with the valve Jr for low volume

Good call. The drug crap always screws it all up--sooner or later.

and see, I think it's easy to achieve unity gain.
Well, based on your previous definition of unity gain, this doesn't apply as I don't use any pedals. The only effect I use is the amp's overdrive. Getting those two volumes to line up seems to be mostly adjusting the gain and the effects level. I'm talking more about enough volume to get the natural distortion of the amp to kick in without being too loud. I know it's not rocket surgery, but that is what I seem to have to play with the most. It is, of course, dependent on the room.

I quit gigging a couple years back because I couldn't stand unreliable, crazy, junky mofos. I hope to get back to it but I got so tired of that nonsense.

Auditioned a singer one time for a metal band, he was pretty good. When it came time to schedule shows he hits us with, "well we might have to put off gigging for a year or so because I start my prison sentence next month for some silly manslaughter charge. I'm gonna appeal it though so don't worry!"

Gonna try that - gotta admit I never considered playing the amp with the gain control off on any setting.

Well, I tried those settings and really kind of liked it! I liked it even more when I turned on the bright and vintage buttons and put the low mid at 2 o'clock and the high mid at 10 o'clock. Treble at 2 o'clock and bass flat at noon. Drive off, Level at 3 o'clock as pictured and gain also off as pictured. Pretty tasty stuff!!! Thanks Yahboy for a really cool tone palette to start with! Gotta get this in the Tone Pool!
