Ugh! I've had similar experiences from Guitar Center so often that I will no longer have anything shipped to my home; I have it shipped to my local GC which is just a 6-minute drive. If the box shows any evidence of tampering, resealing, etc. I politely explain that I paid for NEW gear and this is not that and refuse to accept it. They try to get me to sign a receipt, telling me that I have the 30-day return polity but the simple fact is that once I sign for it, it's MY problem. If I never receive it (I don't sign for it) it's THEIR problem. I'll let you guess which problem gets solved faster and with less hassle.
It upsets me that this sort of customer mistreatment is the norm for this industry.
