Fender Rumble Club

Thank You, sir! Glad to be an official member!!!!
Jeff
Looking to become a Rumble Club member! Have played a 40 (amazing little amp that works fine for small gigs and for combo practice) for 3 years, and used my last birthday as an excuse to add the 100 Rumble on Black Friday. My musical associates can't believe how much bang for the buck (or for the pound!) I have with these two. With Spirocore Weichs (Obligato G), my Stagg EUB provides me a similar sound to my old Kay URB, similarly set up, when coming through either of the "Rumbles".

Welcome Rumbler #742. Glad to have you with us. The 100 is a great little portable amp. Rumble on!

Maybe we should turn them into Horny Toads for good measure. Thoughts?
Well, the toads are preceded by great pleasure.

Perhaps cows would be better. Then we could always call George Nelson if they act up.

But then you might be right. Delinquent toads don't scare this guy....

Fender's Principal Engineer, Dave Lewis, is smarter than your average bass player or any other bass playing engineer. When he and his design team came up with the now world famous 'Rumble Magnetic Attachment System' it was a masterstroke of engineering brilliance! Bass Amplifier Engineers across planet Earth were doing a faceplam  and saying "Damn! I wish I'd thought of that!".
In the Rumble combos all of the amps are solidly attached to the combo cabinet. The amplifiers are well designed to withstand all the vibrations of bass playing and even worse than that - shipping & transportation. Fender Rumble combo players do not take their amps out of their combos and lay them on the floor. It is totally ludicrous to do so with a Fender Rumble head. Use the Fender Rumble Magnetic Attachment System as it was designed and intended by the brilliant masterminds of Fender Bass Amplification.

No Old Charter here in Virginia. I used to love Old Charter Classic 90, a 12 year old, and also 13 year old Old Charter Proprietor's Reserve. Sadly also long gone.

Yea, Buffalo Trace bought them out.

A few years ago I read on a bourbon forum a post by a former employee of Buffalo Trace. He said they threw some kind of shindig for all their distributors one Saturday night. The CEO or whoever showed up a little late and noticed a lot of empty bottles of the Old Charter 12yo. A few bottles of the Buffalo Trace top shelf we're open of course but most were digging the Old Charter.

The following Monday a meeting was called and resulted in an arse chewing and the firing of a couple of guys. The CEO was livid that the top shelf brands weren't being promoted.

One guy that was fired said the wrong thing at the meeting. "A few guys tried the Old Charter and word spread around and everybody wanted it. What were we supposed to do ? "

Anyhow the meeting concluded with the CEO announcing that production of the 12 yo would cease immediately. A year or two later they also stopped production of the 10 year old.

After they stopped the 10 yo I began boycotting all Buffalo Trace brands save for the occasional bottle of Old Charter 8.

Back when I got hip to the Old Charter 12 in the late nineties it was only like 12 bucks a fifth lol

Old Charter never spent a ton on advertising, thus the great bargain price.

I tend to sip Elijah Craig 12 yo these days.
