Fender Rumble Club

Taking things too seriously is frowned on. Just go over to his house and pee on his carpet.

That rug really tied the room together.

I've been using the 'AIR' reverb in my ZOOM B3, and as good as it is, I'd like something better. Studio grade reverbs are a few thousand $$. Any under $200 ideas that sound like $2K+?

I'm not up on current stuff, but the best sounding low priced reverb I have is the tc electronics m300. A rack mount unit of course, kindof like the alesis microverb III in that it has selector knobs and a numeric display instead of a menu screen, but it is also a dual engine processor, 2 effects at once and even has a compressor.

I bought it mostly for the reverb, in my live PA rig, and used it on some recordings as well. It was in the $200 ballpark back then, probably a song on the used market.

Finally my 210 cab arrived to finalize the stack with the 500 combo.
Still amazed by the sheer loudness and low end thump of this little beast! My trusty Duesenberg Triton likes her new companion.

Literally watching that scene right now.

"With one breath, with one flow, you will know, synchronicity!"

Or then again, given the cult status of that film, someone somewhere is bound to be watching whatever scene is being referrenced off topic on a gear forum pertaining to some hobby, at the same time as they are browsing the same forum.

It is not too far removed from the bass world since nihilist #2 was played by the one and only Mike "flea" Balzary. And he WILL cut off your Johnson, he is not joking!

Indeed we are. Welcome Rumbler #741. Is that a 500 combo, or a head? Rumble on!
I went out on a limb and picked up the 500 head, I figured it would be the most versatile. Mind, I don't NEED 500W at the moment but it is best to be prepared. I have a 210 cab. I have this thing about the head being vibrated to death by the cab then all the soldered connections will fail. I usually place the head on the floor. I know, I need professional help. Maybe twofer can offer a suggestion?

OH man, after the divorce I am getting the second cab. Rock on Bro.
You can go online and buy an overpriced isolation pad or you can go to local outdoorsman/ sporting goods store and get a closed cell "Ensolite" type sleeping pad, about 1/2" thick. Cut a piece to fit under your amp and your good to go. Save the rest to fit under your speakers for when you find yourself on a really loose stage floor.

That's not good enough. Cheap; Stupid, and Cheap? Yes. Good enough? No.

Stupid? Why did you feel you had to say that?

You can be a downright rude person sometimes.

And an isolation pad is made from exactly the same thing, pieces of closed cell foam glued together. They're not magic, they're pieces of foam.

Non Rumble stuff: People do the darnedest things on bass and sometimes sound awesome. I worked with this cat last night whom I had played with a couple of gigs with over 15 years ago in a 10 piece blues/funk horn band. The gig last night was bass, sax, piano and drums--some standards, rock classics, R&B and country. After the first song I thought to myself, "damned he sounds good." I look over and I take a good look at his rig:

1 JBL 12' eon
Sansamp
Digitech vocal processor
micro pog
Squire Frankenstein Jazz Bass

The dude was awesome.

Paying attention has its benefits. Had you been paying attention you would know that he is a big proponent of auralex isolation pads. Does fender even make those?

I was actually trying to make a light hearted comment regarding a post that could be considered rude and condescending, but I sincerely apologize for my lack of attention, I will re-read the whole thread now to get up to speed.

Practice rig is go! Sounds great and surprisingly loud/bass heavy for a tiny 1x12 cab. BUT... the feet on the Rumble are too short to completely clear the handle. Has anyone replaced the feet on these things with taller ones and happen to know what might fit?

changing the feet would defeat the magnetic lock system that works with rumble cabs, just a reminder. Rumble 112 is another option, but a bit more expensive than rubber feet. Turning the cab on its side or living with the wobbly handle propped head is the cheapest at $0

Well, I have no intention of ever buying a Rumble cab. I've got a friend who's a cab builder, so all our cabs come from him. Also, feet can always be changed back if I need to sell or something. I'd live with the wobbly, except it rattles like crazy against the metal on the handle. Turning it on its side is fine as a temporary solution, but it's worth the $10 (or whatever new feet would cost) to me to do it right.

The post was totally rude and condescending, I agree, but maybe we are more understanding than most, based on his health and other things. But I have seen a few bail on this thread recently.

But call me a stickler for accuracy, if someone is to be lightheartedly stabbed at, it should at least be for something they actually do, or a product that actually exists.

Fender does not make GHS precision flats either. ;).

Plus I also tend to forget not everyone has a sponge brain like myself, and I know you are newish to the thread. The auralex pads topic does tend to come up a bit here.
