If you're going to use only one cab, I think I'd go for the 115. If you think you might go to two cabs at some point, I think I'd go with the 210. I prefer the sound of the 10s to the 15s, but one 15 moves more air than two 10s. Though, according to a lot of the guys on here, the 210 is plenty loud for their use. Personally, I use two 12s and I feel that I want a bit more at times.Hey guys I'm sure this has been answered a million times but search on the app really sucks. Anyway I have decided to etc the rumble 500 head but can't decide between the 115 and 210 cab. Will be playing with a drummer and 2 guitarist in this band. The guy playing bass now has been using a 70'single kasino head and 115 cab and gets by just fine. Will the 115 or 210 be better suited? Mostly worship and Christian rock and I use a lot of overdrive and modulation
I actually opted for a separate 500 head and 210 rather than the combo......i did this because I already have a GK combo and didn't want two, and the added flexibility of using different cabinet combinations if the future if/when the need arises. I play mostly small clubs/stages and am often to close to the cab to hear well and no FOH, having it up in the air will help me hear better and the extra x2 10's could help fill the room better without being excessively loud.It makes a difference. I use a 500c and a 2x10 extension. Closer to the ear, yes, but you get more punch with the extra cab.
IMO it should be even across both cab's, this seems to point to the 50' cable as the culprit......definitely try something shorter.I've got a question. I just got the Rumble 500, and am paring it with the Rumble 2x10" extension cab. The volume from the speakers in the amp are considerably louder than the extension cabinet. Is this normal? I checked the speakers in the ext.cab and they are fine-just not as loud as the amp speakers. I'm using an old 50' speaker cable to connect them because my Fender-issued 4' cable is in my band trailer, 8 miles away!
That's your power robbing culprit right there. There is also the acoustic illusion that the speakers closer to your ears are 'louder'.I'm using an old 50' speaker cable to connect them
Thanks Firewalz!IMO it should be even across both cab's, this seems to point to the 50' cable as the culprit......definitely try something shorter.
I turned the amp away from me and it was still a huge difference! That's your power robbing culprit right there. There is also the acoustic illusion that the speakers closer to your ears are 'louder'.
Do that and put your rig outside (so there is no Fletcher Munson Effect) stand out some 25+ feet away and you shouldn't be able to tell one cabinet from the other.I'll get my regular patch cable!
I have the 500 combo with 2/10s. Just bought the 115 extension cabinet....Hey guys I'm sure this has been answered a million times but search on the app really sucks. Very nice; I also like that speaker bench- it seems perfect.
That's actually the bench to my Hammond organ!!Very nice; I also like that speaker bench- it seems perfect.
You need to dress that up a little! That's actually the bench to my Hammond organ!!
I have to laugh---I have a very aggressive alpha male trio---except one is a female. ... 4' 11" of solid aggression.
How does she feel about older men?
Phone number?
I find the 15's to be the one for me, but definitely try to do a comparison as we all have our own thoughts on what we want to sound like. Either way, you'll be getting a great cab!
