The DI is post EQ, but the master volume does not control it.
So you set the sound (gain, EQ etc) and then turn the master up or down to control your stage volume.
Then you won't be able to vary compression with the gain knob when in vintage mode. Would it be better to just mic it? But then, of course, anything that changes your stage volume would change it in the PA, too. Too bad there isn't a line level control.
Hi @Big Hoss! Glad things are going well and that you have work to do.Before folks ask about me. Just gonna check in here. Working my fat tail off so...
I don't, the sound man does.
Once I get my eq and volume, I don't need to touch it again. I've never had a a sound guy complain. They seem happy to take it as is. I do always tell them it is post everything.
There is no DI. It is an XRL out that is mic level and in the Rumble 200 & 500 have cabinet simulation circuity built in.the DI is post EVERYTHING, including volume.
I do not think the bass player is asking too much from any sound man or woman that considers themselves as well trained and knowledgeable professionals to afford them good sound.
This is true, but to be honest, if you are going to be changing sounds regularly while on stage, then you really need to work with a sound guy who knows what you do and when you do it, otherwise he will either spend all night playing catch up or just give up (if he is not good at his job).
This is not just the case of the Rumble, but any effect that you use on stage, either you have it rehearsed so levels are adjusted, or at some points you will sound bad.
All those options would be nice, but you have to go to a higher price point to get them. Then you won't be able to vary compression with the gain knob when in vintage mode. Would it be better to just mic it? But then, of course, anything that changes your stage volume would change it in the PA, too. Too bad there isn't a line level control.
