I have about talked myself out of a Rumble cab or a second 500C for a Fender jazz fretless MIM--very affordable.

Great choice! The MIM basses are an excellent value. You'll just have to get the extension cab later

The GAS is passin'. I was just jonesing all week because I haven't practiced this week--which is VERY unusual. Been real busy with getting on schedule with the 2 new kids.

practice tonight for my weekend gig---I am sure I will feel happy and not need any new gear. lolololol

Welcome Rumbler #760. Nice rig. Where you playing a stadium? A 500 set with the master at 12:00 would hurt people, unless your gain was way down or other settings were killing your volume. I play clubs in a trio with a 500 + 2x10 and my master is usually at 3:00 and gain at 4:00. Check out the tone pool for some settings that may help. But, I'm glad you're happy with it. Now, read the tone pool and Rumble On!

I thought it sounded great as well. The "Vintage" button added a lot of low end to the sound also. Now, the question is what to do with my Rumble 40? I don't really want to keep two amps around the house, so I might sell it on Craigslist.

Question for all you who use a 500 combo with an extension cab:

When stacked vertically with the combo on top, is it hard to see the control panel? It seems to me that the extra height would at least make it a little less visible. Maybe not a problem, though?

I'm 6' 2", so that's not an issue for me.
