1970's silverfaced or new Bassman 100T? Both are drool worthy.I'm catching myself looking at Bassman 100's online. There's just something about the smell of hot tubes in the morning.

Should do nicely for rehearsals and some gigs
I bought one new in 1972 when the the shift from blackfaced Super Bassman to silverfaced Bassman 100 occurred. Served me very well.70's all the way.
That is amusing as it is all from the same person that is/was Fender Rumble Club member @99Z3Fender Friday?

No, not at all. People come and go at TalkBass and the Fender Rumble Club is no different in that respect. His Custom Shop Rumble Bass rig is top notch; very rare, and well worth the $2,500 asking price as that was something like $3,500 new in '96. He's gone through the head and repaired everything that needed fixing. I think he retubed it too. I'd buy it without hesitation if I could.Did he get 'ousted'?
If I had that much gear... oh wait I already have too much gear, never mind.
My first amp was a bassman 100 with the 2x15 cab. Stupidly sold it.I bought one new in 1972 when the the shift from blackfaced Super Bassman to silverfaced Bassman 100 occurred. Served me very well.
Life happens: recessions; divorces, other assorted lifequakes. My first amp was a bassman 100 with the 2x15 cab. Stupidly sold it.
D**n you Linnin. Why are you forcing me to get 2 210 cabs. I was perfectly happy with my 410 cab but now you have me doubting myself. Please tell me you're BSing us.You only get the coupling effect with stacked identical cabinets/drivers. So you would forfeit that bit of sonic goodness. Your dispersion would also decline somewhat and your mids would beam more. All the same reasons vertically stacked 10's are acoustically superior to the 4x4 arrangement of the 410 cabinet. 4x4 is best for Jeeps and pickup trucks.
It's all true, but there is nothing wrong with your 410. By all means continue with your perfect happiness.D**n you Linnin. Why are you forcing me to get 2 210 cabs. I was perfectly happy with my 410 cab but now you have me doubting myself. Please tell me you're BSing us.

Some people don't like this and others flatly deny it, but the Fender Rumble 500 combo is the best selling bass amp in world wide sales for the past two and now working on three years running. Yes, they are that good. That's a good point.I sure glad I tried the 500C.![]()

A good one that cares deeply about your well being. What kind of a friend are you?
