I'm still with rickenboogie on this. And I'm sorry to say u are completely ignoring the both of us. That bassman is not gonna hold up for what u wanaa do. Save up some more and look at a 300 watt head with a 4x10 or a 1 15.

but i have a fender rumble 15w with a yamaha rbx170. i was gonna try to save for a fender p bass but i realize i need a new amp...

I'm currently playing a Rumble 60. My Guitard has a Marshall 15 watt micro stack, and I have a hard time hearing myself half the time. When the drummer shows up, he complains that he can't hear me either.

At least he's got the red light to follow.

I wanna get the new Ampeg Mini stack. More than I can afford, however.

I guess I'm saying go bigger.

i've been using a 100 watt fender rumble to gig with for 2 years. i play around 6 shows a month, and practice once or twice a week. i've never had a problem with it. i've never gotten a bad sound out of it, i run the amps eq flat. i bought it lightly used for 150 us dollars, and honestly, it gets loud.

after saying that, i'd go for the bassman. it's 100 watts, and it's got a much better eq. if your drummers plays any harder than mine, then he must go through sticks and heads like it's going out of style. my lead guitarist i swear is deaf, because at shows, he is loudest on stage... and he's on the opposite side than i am. i've never needed more, even at shows without full pa support. 100 fender watts are loud.

if i was you, i'd go with the bassman.

My Fender Rumble 100/2-10 has been relegated to being a 100 watt cd player.The bass fuzz's out when i plug in my bass and play cds. I could never get what I paid for it, so it'll just remain just that. An overpriced cd player.

I have a Rumble 100. I love the tone but have to agree that it just isn't
enough for playing out. You're gonna want more.

It's still a great practice amp and, as HoosierDaddy says, it makes a
great portable sound/music system. A Rumble 100 is like a party
in a box. Use it with an iPod on the deck, near the pool, or wherever, and
it sounds great. It has strong, crystal clear power for regular music.

how come theyre better

Rumble is Fender's budget line. It's fine for what it does for the price, but Bassman is their standard line with fifty years of development, design, and reputation.

Sometimes I ponder:

If an amp has a "cute" name (like Rumble), was it chosen by the manufacturer so kids taking their parents to the music store for the first time will choose it?

Are there other names that fit under this, and are there exceptions? Just curious.
