I just used a Fender Rumble 2X8, 1X12 and a Rumble 350 head for practice. I'm amazed at how great it sounded! Loads of low end and plenty of articulation. The controls are simple and straight forward, but i was able to come up with several usable sounds. It easily kept up with our energetic drummer and pretty loud guitar players. I had the volume set at about 10:30 and it rocked all night long! I'm officially impressed and a fan. I'm taking it to a medium sized gig in a pretty big room this weekend with PA support. I'll report back after the weekend how it stood up under pressure. As of now, I'm amazed!

I have a Rumble 350 and it's a great amp nice tone and plenty loud enough. I play a 5 and it handles the low end just fine.
I don't think I've yet to have it even at half volume. I do have a Sansamp BDDI in front of it in full disclosure mostly for feeding the PA.

Along with its pretty darn good sound, the portability is awesome. I can carry two basses (double gigbag), tuner, two cabs and the head into any venue in one trip. Makes me giddy when I think of all the times I wheeled and pushed big, heavy cabs into places. And, like was hinted at above, I've really only pushed the volume to about 10:30. I think this little beast could have some serious thump, if necessary.

Agree on outside volumn. I went to an outdoor festival this afternoon and one group (local college ensemble) had this for the 4-string bass. It just did not work outdoors. It was set on a concrete sidewalk in front of an old log cabin. I have not heard the group indoors but the Rumble probably is fine there. The player used these settings: Vol 7, gain 2, bass -3, mids even, high +2. No scoop used. The sound was great - it just needed more volumn. Band was drums, keys, tele, and four vocalists.

Don't get me wrong; I'm a big Fender fan but, from my experience,
but by the time you get the gain on a Fender amp up to 12:00
there isn't much left. Sometimes I think they do this
purposely. Psychologically, you think you have a lot more.

Regardless, I have a Fender Rumble 100 that I love. It's a
great practice amp suitable for small gigs. It's also great for
plugging in an iPod and having an instant party.

Personally, i think fender makes some great gear and I am definitively a fan of their basses and guitars; however, after having to use some fender rumble equipment in classes in college I have found that they were less reliable than my gear. Albeit they were used heavily. In my first year i had to put in repair orders for a lot of fender combos. They sound well but I think corners were cut to put them in a marketable price range.

Have you tried the new Rumble (350/150 heads) stuff? I'm as dubious as they come...I mean I like Fender basses and have owned several over the years, but their amps always left me wanting. So when I was looking for some easily transportable gear, this was one set up that caught my eye, out of the many to choose from. I tried a few different rigs, Ampeg, Markbass, GenzBenz and TC Electronic. Anyway I was able to try out the 350 head and the 2X8 and 1X12 cabs at practice and, like I said, I'm amazed at the bass response and the loudness of these little cabs. I really don't feel like, psychologically, I think there is more there. I feel like there is plenty there and more in the tank, if needed. I've used this set up twice now for gigs in the last week and it has performed flawlessly on both occasions. Long term, who knows, but for now, I'm a fan.

I agree with you on this point, the combos I have tried have been nothing special in the extreme and really cheap feeling.
