I am really happy that Fender has been coming out with some great signature basses(and also long due) over the last year(the Harris, Mckagan, Waters etc.)
I understand that this is a little complicated because of all the dealings involved and that the final product should be really marketable in order to make a signature instrument. I think that there are still a lot that MUST be made and that would still be able to sell really well.
Which would YOU like to see and/or would be willing to buy get?
-James Jamerson's Funk machine P bass
Well not too much to say here but it is about time Fender made this, seriously the potential is ridiculous.
-Flea's 60s jazz bass.
Kinda hard to work out, but man that would be great.
-John Deacon's(Queen) P bass. One of the most underrated players ever and he mostly used this one throughout his carreer.
-Phil Lynott P-bass. Mirror pickguard, hard rock end of story
-Tommy Shannon's(Stevie Ray Vaughan, Johnny Winter and others) Jazz bass.
DeeDee Ramone/Sid vicious P-bass. Talk about an iconic P-bass. I know Sid couldn't play, so yeah maybe DeeDee is better. And while on punk
-Matt Freeman's P bass. Might as well be a holy grail kind of P-bass
-Berry Oakley's Tractor Jazz. Sweet jesus has anyone saw this thing?!? It's purely great!!! The front pickup was replaced with a darkstar pickup(they are called darkstars now, I don't know how they were called back then, all I know that they were made by Hagstrom) and 2(!) jazz pickups at the bridge. Plus it sounded amazing!!!
