Fender Squires

I take it the Fender Squires are low end basses? My hubby's cousin has one she's trying to sell, I wouldn't mind having it to play around with. Any opinions on them?

She might cut me a deal or something, who knows.
She has a little amp and hardshell case for it too. What's it worth?

Bass+amp+case 200 usd, I guess. And it would be a good honest deal for both (consider surely you have to change the strings right away)

Squier is a lower quality brand owned by fender. They are generally seen as decent beginner basses but some of their pricier models have a lot of fans.

Strings are no issue, my teacher does everything, I'd just hand it to him and he works magic.

Yeah I'm a starter but it'd be fun to see what other basses feel like as well, if it feels a little different from my little Ibby.

Get it if the price is right - everyone needs at least 1 Fender or decent sounding Squier!

I LUURRRVVEEE my Korean CN ` 96 serial Squire Jazz ,Black with Tortie scratchplate . Sounds the nuts , nothing but great comments from other musicians , never goes out of tune and plays great . Get one [ dont get California series unless youre going to upgrade hardware etc . ]

It'll very likely feel different and sound different than your Ibby. Good thing is that you get to decide which is better for you.

Sweet. I'm pretty stoked, can't wait to get it and clean it up.
HAHa my hubby doesn't know yet....he'll be 'oh no another bass?' he teases me, thinks I'm not serious about learning and playing...drive me nuts. He can't argue, it's free.

nothing wrong with squiers at all. the affinitys where kinda cheap but the vm series are as good or better than any mim fender i,ve played. i have a deluxe 5er that i love. don,t think its quite as nice as my mia but still a damn good sounding bass.

Its an Affinity from the all black type on the headstock
but one of the earlier Mexican ones NOT the cheaper Indonesian so overall
its not all that bad really

IF anything you can upgrade that bass over time
and to me at least it will be a thumpier and deeper bass than the GSR
