Fender Starcaster Bass "Reissue"!!

Put a bass version this on the Coronado and you'd have something.

Holy Cr*p! I don't know if you were being sincere or not, but I LIKE the looks of that Bigsby! I'm not sure I would ever use it, and I dread to think of the permanent damage to the Coronado from installing it, but I do think it would look cool. I don't think Santa can be convinced to bring me that, too....so I'm saved from having to think about it!

I sent Fender an email last week asking them what they expect us to carry these around in. No answer yet :0(

Gawd!!!! It makes me nuts when guitar makers do this to us!!!

What the F is the point of producing an instrument (especially a somewhat delicate one) and not producing the accompanying case?!?

I mean... wouldn't they even be able to squeeze a little more money out of us with the case included?

Someone please explain this phenomenon to me!!!

Well shoot, I've already got the case! I bought it when I had a used Washburn Delta King coming to me. When I finally got the hollowbody OB-30, it turned out that the neck was totally knackered, and I had to send it back. In the meantime, I've got this nice, deep, furry hardshell case made for a full-bodied bass with a long neck.

Now, I just need the Starcaster to put in it!

It's very hard to understand.

I'm wondering... Would it fit in a acoustic bass case? Obviously you'd have to put some extra padding or something in the body area to raise it to make the neck straight thru the case to the top. But I'm sure you get the picture!

Thoughts??

Oh I know it's a short-scale but the bridge isn't at the bottom of the body like a P (or most solid body basses, for that matter) and the headstock is a bit larger than most, therefore the scale length is slightly misleading in relation to overall length; so do you think every one would be out the question?

Totally not trying to start an argument, just trying to help everyone and maybe myself as I'm interested in acquiring one of these some day...

What I mean is that I think the bass will be too long for an acoustic guitar case.

Thanks I stand corrected. Yes it would probably fit any number of cases but will it fit properly without rattling around?

I don't know if the acoustic bass case idea would be ideal for transport but if one wanted to put the Starcaster or Coronado in a HSC for storage I'm sure one could stuff enough towels, shirts, choose-your-own-case-filler in there. Transporting the Starcaster safely is a completely different conundrum... maybe a large piece of foam placed in the HSC and then with a cutout for the bass??

Again, just trying to help here! Thoughts?
