Fender Starcaster Bass "Reissue"!!

Why are people so hung up on where these basses are made? If they are decent instruments and sound good, who cares? Sure, maybe you're paying a bit more for the Fender logo (as opposed to a Squier) but so what. If you have the money and want to buy it, go ahead.

I have a Squier Mikey Way Mustang that's made in Indonesia. It's an awesome bass. It's not a cheap piece of crap made in Indonesia, it's a quality bass for about $300. And I'm not even a Mikey Way fan, I just love the way the bass sounds, looks and feels. I could care less that it's made in Indonesia.

The Chinese factories are turning out some decent quality instruments these days. They should only keep getting better.

I remember back in the '60s and '70 when "Made in Japan" stood for cheap crap (in lots of things, not necessarily instruments). Today MIJ basses go for a lot of money are are great instruments. MIJ is a sign of quality now. Soon CIC and CII will stand for quality too.

I have long wanted a Starcaster bass, or, even, a guitar.
Looking at these, I might buy one, probably in Natural. I will first have to play a few.

Good or bad, the instrument itself will help me decide to buy or not.
I prefer to buy American, but I am not wealthy, and cost is definitely a big concern for me at buy time.
If I can get a good instrument, well designed and constructed, for a decent price, that is usually the deciding factor.

Right now I have 4 MIJ instruments, and 1 MIC instrument, and all are well designed, well built, and were acquired for cheap. I sleep OK.

Only an actual Starcaster or three, in hand, will make me decide. Then I'd probably get one used. :D
No hurry, I already have some basses. I can wait.

is this where ibanez got their blazer headstock from? i always found it interesting even if i don't like it on a fender much, personally.

I am reopening this after some cleanup of political content. Sorry if I deleted a post of anyone that had some on-topic content combined with the politics and bickering...I don't have time to edit everything, so just deleted a ton of posts.

Yes, partly...but it helps a great deal if someone reports the thread. I don't read everything on the forum.

Depending on exact dimensions, I've had good luck getting some of these semi-hollows into standard cut SKB hardshells.

I hope that's the case here, because I've been hankerin' for one of these for a long, long time. Both the basses and the guitars.

The Coronado will fit in the Epiphone hard case made for the Cassidy bass.
Glad to see this back on track also. Opinions are like belly buttons - everyone has one. Its okay to share your opinion - just remember it's yours and not to be pushed on others. So many of my opinions have changed over time that I am reserve in sharing them.

I wonder if these would fit in any of the MONO bags. Guess we'll have to wait for the exact dimensions. I would think that likely candidates for a hard case would be of the Gibson/Epiphone variety (Midtown, old EB0, Casady, Rumblekat, etc).
