Have the white one and would have liked to get it without the West Ham logo. as far as sound, it is great with lots of sustain and balls to it. Yes it is heavy, but that's part of what makes it sound like a tank.

I've heard his actual bass was either ash or maple. I'll have to do some research and figure that out.
If anyone knows for sure I'd like to get to the bottom of this.
I prefer the look of the second model, with the mirror pickguard and the sparkel finish.

Supposedly Steve Harris' P-bass (his own real bass) body is maple, not alder, so the white is the one to get
His original was most likely a very heavy ash body.
Fender choose maple for the white model to replicate the weight of Steve's original.
Fender did not make maple Precision bodies in the '70s - like the ones from the '50s and '60s, they were either alder or ash.
The white one is a lot heavier than the blue but it is very nice quality for a MIM and sounds great.
I would buy a used white one, paint it silver with black pin stripping and then put a Raiders logo on it...but that's just me.
Was thinking of painting it the Japanese blue, but don't want to spend a couple hundred bucks on a paint job.

I have a blue one and weight wise those ones are no feather weight either, although much lighter than the maple white one. Mine was an even ten pounds. The mirrored steel pick guard, bad ass bridge and stock tuners are not light stuff. I realize its sacrilege to some but mine now has res-o-lite tuners, a vintage style bridge and a mint guard. It may not look like a Harris signature anymore but it's one of my favorites. I love the color and the feel of the neck. She's 8 lbs 13 oz now and it can always be put back to stock.

There are more in used condition, the drop in price probably has to do with Fender producing the new model in Mexico.
Yours looks great with the mint pickguard.

I think it is in the top tier. I also love my Tbird. Like dating a blonde and brunette at the same time.
