Fender Sting Precision Help Please?

Mine is close to 9-12.

After I had surgery I had similar restrictions and I just played seated but my wife or son would hand me the bass and put it back in the stand for me since picking it up from the stand would have been as bad or worse for me as standing and playing it.

Great now we are getting somewhere. I know from the feel of mine it is definately light and very balanced. My weight limit was 10 pounds so looks like I should be fine.

I may try and figure out a way to get mine weighed.

Anyone out there with a heavy one?

Will be talking with my Surgeon again Monday and will get some stuff straight with him regarding rehersal and gigging.

I just used an uncalibrated kitchen scale to weigh my “52 reissue.
It weighed 9 lbs 13 oz with strap.
I'd say you are pushing your luck trying to play right now.
I'd skip the gig rather than risk torn stitches etc and a trip to the ER.

Btw; After my bypass surgery in April I had a 5 lb limit which pretty much was every thing I'd want to pick up.

This too shall pass.

Nah the 1st gig is not until late November more than enuff time for me to be off my restriction. I weighed it today with my Mother In Law's scale and it came out around 9 pounds. It's not a good accurate reading but gives me an idea. My restriction is 10 Pounds but I asked my Doc if I could play and he said yes. This surgery was done orthascopicly (spelling?) and is a pretty routine procedure. My spine is in one piece and everything is doing very well. No bleeding, fever, and very minor pain at this point. Most of the pain now is stiffness and muscle pain with the rare occasional lightning bolt from my spine. I have backed off the pain meds some and am doing fine with that. I was loopy as a Duck there for a while.

The Doc has been right so far. He said the pain from my problem would be gone when I woke from sugery and he was correct. He also said I would be soar as all get out from the surgery and he was correct about that.

I have been getting around pretty good and even rode to town today with my Son to take care of some things for him (he drove).

I may try to do some light playing tomorrow and see how it feels.

The downside to playing settting down is readjustment of technique. I play finger style and like my arm down flat on the Bass which dosnt work so well setting down. I may give it a go and see how it feels.

Before my surgery I cvouldnt get through more than about 3 songs before fatigue would set in and I would have to quit.
