fender stratocaster bass?

I own a bass with a Stratocaster body. It was produced by Rockinger in the 1980's as an assembly kit. High quality, too.

The only Strat basses I've ever seen were a couple of custom builds posted here on TB.

Looks to me like it might be a short scale bass based on a Strat body and two octave baritone guitar neck but with the headstock drilled for bass. It's something I've considered cobbling together (along with a Telecaster guitar based version) more than a few times.

I've made a couple of Telecaster versions using an Ibanez Mikro Neck.

Or, if you're looking at pickups, the Fender HM bass was strat-ish in that it had 3 skinny pups and a 5-position knife switch.

Thanks. GFS (GuitarFetish.com) is a parts company. They also provided the lipstick humbuckers. Bridge is from Amazon.

I decided to do something about it so I built a 34" scale StratoBass with Jazz Bass pickups and a 3-band preamp. The bridge pickup slant goes from a 1960s position on the E string to a 1970s position on the G string. The middle pickup is exactly where a Jazz Bass middle pickup should go. The neck pickup was positioned for the best "bass quack" tone. (You can't have a Strat without a "quack", can you?)

There is no Fender bass that says "Stratocaster" on the headstock.
That's a Jazz bass.
