Fender strings, does anyone of you use them?

My standard string choice is SIT Nickle's but I also have a half dozen Fenders that didn't sound like the Fender demo's, so I tried a couple of basses with Fender nickle's and found that made them sound like the demo's. I like them for those basses but the Precisions stand out more with the Fender strings, especially on the lower 5 frets.

The Pre-mexico 7250 has warmth thick tone, but no lasting. Only2 week fresh , then get dead .....
The current OEM 7250 sound good/ok while fresh , but once settle in, she has nice quality " DEAD Roundwound" sound if you liking with. I am the one. I prefer the lighter gauge in tone when she get dead.

But the most beautiful tone Fender bass string to me are Pre-mexico 7150 pure nickel which has classy GOLD silk on both string end. Sound truly vintage-ist on both Jazz and P bass. Sweet, crisp , warmth and sing ! The string stiffness are lower than current OEM 7150 , meanwhile the string surface has roller-wound like smooth feel. Smoother than Dunlop SBN which has thinner outer wind.

I just put a set of Fender Super 7250s (.045–.125) on my bass. I usually run Dunlop Super Bright Stainless 45/125 on this instrument. Even though the gauges are basically the same, the Fenders immediately made the bass feel like the action was way higher and the strings felt much stiffer. I bent the strings at the bridge and nut—no change. I had to drop the action pretty significantly to get it playing like it did with the Dunlops. The Fenders still feel noticeably stiffer, so that’ll take some getting used to, but I’m open to giving them a fair shot.

The only Fender strings that I regularly use are their 9050 flatwounds which I like using on Player Jazz Basses.

This is when I usually state that I can't stand Fender rounds and that's definitely the case for their current selection. Whenever I get a bass with them, I always change them out pretty quickly. Now I have several sets of new or lightly used Fender rounds on hand. I should try to sell them lol.

However, I bought an '02 MIM Jazz awhile back and loved the rounds that were on it. With the stock pickups, they made for a surprisingly nice dark tone and didn't produce much finger noise. After some research here on TB, I determined that they are old pre-MIM Fender rounds. Idk the model number but they have black silks.

I've also used their 9120 tapewounds in the past. After trying them out on a Stingray, I can't put them back onto a Fender as now the G string is too short. This is where my biggest peeve with Fender comes in as they won't sell singles. So now I can't order a single G and tbh, I don't want to order another set just to get a single string. Besides, if I'm going to order a new set of tapewounds, I'm going to try out a GHS set as I haven't tried them out yet.

Does anyone have an extra 9120 G string that will fit on a Fender laying about that they're willing to part with?
