Fender Template Sticky?

I was thinking it might be a good idea to create a sticky containing all of the most
requested mounting templates for Fender accessories. A kind of reference library
of sorts, where TBers could download a printable PDF of a full size template.
Could build it up over time for various models.

Like:
Bridge & pickup covers
Mutes
Tugbars & thumbrests
Tuners (installation on undrilled aftermarket necks)
… etc.

Anybody interested? :eyebrow:

( didn't see anything like this — please forgive if it's already here )

I like the idea. Fender itself has a PDF library on it's own website, but those drawings vary in accuracy. I don't know if it's only meant to indicate how a model looks or if you can actually use it for building or repairing purposes.

Take a look over here: Invalid Link Removed. This is a list of PDF documents, containg parts layout diagrams, wiring diagrams, part lists and switching / control diagrams of most models they sell (and have sold?).

Is this what you're looking for?

Thanks all for the replies and great suggestions.

The main idea here is to simply have a single source on TB for mounting
templates for tugbars, covers, etc.

Come to think of it, it doesn't even have to be exclusively
Fender stuff; could be templates in general, and could even cover
conversion-type mods, like mounting old school reverse tuners on a
fresh AllParts neck ( like I'm currently doing ).

Just handy stuff to help TBers avoid drilling holes in their basses in the wrong place.

So how about it? Anybody have some good ( read: clean and accurate ) templates
they'd like to share?

hey rob,
i took a look through the fender link you sent.
there's actually a lot of good info there (part #s, etc.) in the form of diagrams, which illustrate the various parts and their locations, but no actual templates indicating exactly where to drill holes on our beloved basses.

Here's an example of the style of template I'm talking about:
BridgeCoverMountJazz.jpg

You can download this template, print out @ 100%, trim and use to locate your J's bridge cover. I was told this template is the one that ships with Fender's Custom Shop basses. I added the "modified" holes because it mounts the cover a little farther forward, and just hides the bridge pickup.

I just made this pdf file available of the above ^ (the scale was off a bit) for those who are interested.

If anyone has templates for any other bits like pickup covers and thumbrest/tugbars maybe we could get them all together in one place?

I can create pdf files from ypur jpeg's to produce accurately sized vector templates with high quality linework.
