That's real pretty!I got mine about 4 years ago. Delivers every time. I do believe that Fender did something special with the Ultra Preamp. I use both passive and active mode for my cover band. it growls like the best of them. Neck is spectacular. I liked the series so much that I got the 4 string version, but i could not gel with the neck. so I sold it. but the 5 string Jazz will always be on my side.
I haven't either until the new Ultra preamp. IMO it's one of the most useful and usable preamps I've played.I have never enjoyed Fender bass preamps. Seem synthetic. Just me maybe?

I noticed that in all Ultra jazz 5 I saw online, and in your photo too, the G and B strings are very near the fretboard edge.
Much near the Edge than in other basses.
