Fender USA Flea Jazz Bass Active

I ordered one. Fender says Nov. 1 ships to dealers (approx.) Will post when it comes.
This is one of the nicest designs I've seen Fender put out in a while. I'm gonna regret not getting one.
This bass really sparked my interest... until I saw the price and that it's not a 1.5" nut 
Well, the first review is out, what do you guys think?!
Well that is one crap review. I'm not convinced that the bass is purposely over driven, I could be wrong but...it seems like they don't know how to set gain on an amp. Who would purposely make a bass that sounds like wet farts when the volume knob is all the way up to full? I don't buy it.
Also, why the heck is it missing a knob?

Too bad he didn't explore it a bit more.

I agree with you, I would like to hear more. In the description is said that the knob is in the case But i live in Europe and it is not in the stores here yet, so I am glad to hear atleast some sound example

Hey man, I think you really love Flea.
Sounds alright, I suppose. But, I personally think it's ugly. That single MM pickup looks weird on a jazz. Especially without any pickguard. Seems a bit pricey too. I'll pass. Having said that, I don't think this review is a great measuring stick for everything this bass has to offer.
Is it possible to ever hear a bass demo on youtube without some dude slapping? Like, every guitar player that picks up a bass automatically goes to slap mode. I can't even remember a time on stage where I've played slap bass without being ironic.
Which is sad because Flea hasn't been slapping since Mother's Milk. Maybe one song on each album since then, but he's become a very melodic and fantastic finger style player.
Any updates from anyone? I can't understand there not being more interest in them.
