Fender USA Flea Jazz Bass Active

I got one in inca silver few months ago. It is my main bass now and it is truly amazing! All I got were compliments on gigs! It sounds absolutely beautifull, cuts through mix really nicely. Neck is super comfortable. The pickup/preamp is really hot and you might turn the volume pot down a bit. I would say, that it is very versatile bass and gives many diferent tones but I found one setting that I really love and keep it that way most times. I hope you will enjoy this beautiful instrument as well!

Just got mine last night. I’ve had a few Stingrays in the past but always end up selling them because I end up thinking they are a little harsh sounding to my taste. I always loved Paul Denmans tone from his. Lots of fullness and warmth with great presence but was never able to totally achieve it. Well with the Flea I finally have. The Aguilar pre and pickup combo give it exactly that warmth and clarity I heard in my head. A beautiful sophisticated sound is how I can describe it. Sure it has Stingray characteristics but it is tamed in a good way. Great for slapping but I always loved Paul’s take on how he approached it. And it’s a really well made Fender J. Build quality and finish are great. I’m loving the idea of it big time! Does anyone know where I could get a pickguard for it? I’ve read things here and there but I still haven’t found a straight answer. Thanks
