Fender website - Squier Late 60s CV Jazz Bass

Link Removed

A tribute to the decade of its birth, the Classic Vibe Late ‘60s Jazz Bass® combines the luxurious playability that made it famous with the versatility and massive tone of its dual Fender-Designed alnico single-coil pickups. Player-friendly features include a slim, comfortable “C”-shaped neck profile with an easy-playing 9.5”-radius fingerboard and narrow-tall frets, as well as a vintage-style bridge with threaded saddles. This throwback Squier model also features 1960s-inspired headstock markings, rich-looking nickel-plated hardware and a slick vintage-tint gloss neck finish for an old-school vibe.

Just an fyi I ordered one about a month ago and the quality was far worse than other cv I've had, posted it in a different thread. mine was super heavy too. Maybe I just got a lemon. They also just ship the bass in the product box with no additional protection and my box had a hole in it with the bass visible. dealing with support was drawn out but eventually got it returned/sorted. personally will only buy from a store in the future.

Good feedback, thanks! Hopefully there are some winners out there & the discount isn’t indicative of the quality of the whole run. Fingers crossed.

yeh someone else posted a NBD recently and it seemed higher quality than mine. it's a very pretty bass for sure. looks even better in person imo. the blue is closer to a cobalt which i prefer and flaked. my biggest take away was just dealing with fender itself was disappointing and a hassle compared to even guitar center/musiciansfriend

Back in Stock!! Get'em before they're gone again.
Well, that escalated quickly. Had it in my cart, jumped over to PayPal for a sec to ensure Fender was setup with the right card, came back and it was gone. Now, as mentioned above I don't need this so I should have left it alone; a sign from the universe.

Nope, called Fender, nothing they could do. Then I happened across a similar but even more dramatic sale at ProAudioStar (seriously ludicrous prices right now). So this happened:

just an fyi proaudiostar had all squier basses cheaper all last month listed as "used" .. when you buy a used guitar from them they arrive new. it's their shady tactic so that they can upsell you a new one for more money and get around company's msrp. this sale - they raised the prices on all the guitars by 30$, marked them as new, removed all the used listings. now everyone thinks they're getting a deal. still a good deal no doubt, but you would have spent 60$ less 2 days ago. classic vibes were all 249.99. also my personal experience with proaudiostar has been awful support and real headaches. but their prices keep tempting me over the years. every time, i regret it.

Dang, that is wild. Good info, I appreciate it! I think I've only purchased from them once before and it was a pretty indifferent experience, but will definitely keep that in mind going forward.

yeh it was real tough for me to resist buying a classic vibe mustang bass and tele for 250 last month. i kept checking my cart and almost clicked buy multiple times lol .. but i kept remembering how much hassle it was to deal with them in the past so i was just barely able to resist. still, if they go back to 250 after this "sale" i might succumb

I had signed up for Fender’s “advanced notice” email on Facebook for a “huge upcoming sale”. I wasn’t holding my breath. When I got the email about the stuff on sale, I was excited - but as I saw the email an hour after it came through, all the CV 60’s Jazz were gone. I clicked on “notify me”.

Today I was on my phone when the email came through that they were back in stock. I quickly clicked “Buy” and entered my paypal info and bam - I got an email receipt saying my order went through!

I’m excited, even as a wall hanger. I have some real nice Jazz basses including my Lakland DJ4. The Squier looks cool though!
