very true...

the question now is that if someone came in and said ....

"DaT JaCo GoT mAd BaSs SkIlLz Yo! He Is BaSs GoD!"

...would they get the same response as most of us would give to the same person if they were talking of feildy.

hmmmm

i dunno the answer.

"you know what expierenced bass players use ibanez basses for? fire wood "

Hmm, that's funny, I never realized bass players' merit are judged on the instruments they play. I've been playing for 6 years, gig professionally in bars, have played rock, country, blues, jazz, dixieland, swing, latin, oldies, gospel, ska, punk, old school metal, nu-metal, and funk in one time or another of my life, but I have done it on either an SR305 or an SR400, so I guess than disqualifies me as being "expierenced".

I've gotten many compliments on my playing from very respected musicians and that has all to do with my playing, cause they couldn't give two cares if I was doing it on an Ibanez, a Fodera, or a Rogue.

Not to sound like Bruce ;) , but he is right, some people put way to much empahsis on gear.

p.s. Sorry to come off like a concieted, pompus guy who thinks he's the greatest thing every, cause I'm not like that, but I just think that statement was very misinformed and childish.

for the last time, dont come complaining to me about it, i didnt say it. and i state that in the first post. i believe my buddy was talking about older ibanez basses, where the wood would bend very easy. and i do realize theyve fixed the problem, but common guys, this is getting a little rude.

No matter who said it originally, when you put something in a post, people tend to take it as if you said it yourself, and as if it is your own view or opinion.
