Hey, I'm an Ibanez user. I even use of the crappy ones. GSR200, and y'know what? Ibanez's aren't too bad. I like it a lot, actually. Enoough to drop about it's worth (160 of a 200 bass) in it to keep it chugging, and I'll drop another 5 for tuners sometime this fall.

It's like MIM Fenders: QC isn't the best. Some are the reputed firewood, others are just as good as any other bass. I personally got a good one.

Now, Fieldy...uh...well...he's...Fieldy.

Fieldy's been hangin' out with rappers...ooooohh...If Ditka could whip them into shape, Pinhead could be defeated.

...I have a Soundgear (305) and it's been good to me for about five years now. My only problem has been the input jack (I've had to solder it). I'd like to get a Warwick, but don't (and won't ever) have the $$$'s to drop.

lets all keep this on the topic of Fieldy please and not hell raiser and how new some people are to the thread, and that JT is a ficticious charactor. ;)

thanks for keeping this civil, cos if it gets ugly it gets closed :D

i think Fieldy has some abilities, rhythmicly he's really good.

Here's a thought: Fieldy sets up his rig to make bright clicky highs. At the same time IIRC Korn's guitarists tune their 7 strings down a whole step (ie: the low B becomes a low A). Is it me or isn't it fairly obvious that Fieldy is a frustrated guitarist and Head and Munky are frustrated bassists.:D

I dunno sometimes when i hear people saying how bad he is i dont think they've actually listened to alot of korns music. On life is peachy his basslines IMO are pretty cool and seem to really fit the songs well. I just hope people know the facts before they go post.

I will say that Fieldy isn't the greatest bassist, BUT the way he plays suits Korn's sound, he is tight with the drummer, and gives the band their signature sound. Personally, I don't like Korn, but Fieldy does not suck, IMO.

As for liking Korn, I'm not a big fan of the B!tch Metal genre.

Fieldy or Pinhead?

Now this is a little unfair, so we'll team up Fieldy with Mike Ditka.

whatcha think?

EDIT: or we can team up Ditka with Pinhead, depending on where you alliegances lie

Now, if it were da bears with ditka, it'd be DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA bears, wiitttttthhhhhh Ditka. That's just an unstopable force right dere, ya see.

I try never to say a bassist sucks. As long as what they do fits the song, then great. If a miracle were to happen and my band made it big, I would hate to come here and hear how much I suck. I know I am not a great bass player, but; I do feel I come up with good lines for the songs we do. I would bet most of the players that you guys bash feel the same way. They know their shortcomings, but still do the best they can for the song based on their ablilities.
By the way, I own an Ibanez EDC and LOVE IT! It is a great bass for the price. Very comfortable, easy to play and great tone.
Down with the Ibanez haters!
:D

Nothing like a good stereotype

Depends on how the reader reads it. Stereotypes are everywhere, u cant get away from them, and half the world wouldnt work without them.
What exactly do you think i was stereotyping? A rap star? A pre-pubescant school kid? Actually i was pretty close to explaining the way a x-freind of mine talks/thinks, and he isnt in either of those categories.
The very fact that you distinguish it as a negative stereotype puts you in the frame for using them yourself.

cheers
