very nice! I have 2 sunset orange P's (sorta close to FR) w/ tort pg's. always wanted a maple fb though . . .

It's not exactly Fiesta Red, but it gives you an idea. I just made this with a red pearloid PG, and it gives off the fun vibe I was hoping for.

Fiesta red is a very different kind of red from all the other fender colors. I don't think black would look very good on it. Also, I think red pearl looks atrocious on pretty much everything, especially
red guitars. My votes would be:

white
creammint
white pearloid
tortoise shell

The real test is how it looks onstage. Some basses that look great in ordinary room light almost disappear under stage lights. I think exaggerated tones and over-the-top combinations have the best chance of standing out on stage. Of course, that might not be what you care about.

Thanks! I like those rosewood boards you have there! The P/J looks like the bridge J is in the standard position (verses back further to the bridge : a.k.a. '70's position...) How do you have the vol/tone controls set up?

One of my favorite P basses on TB! My CAR P bass currently has a red tort on it and it looks too red atm. I'm going to be switching it back to black for the nice contrast.

...then again, all my other basses have a black PG besides my rick.

How do you have the vol/tone controls set up?

it's stock v/v/t, one of these days I'll get around to a 3 way switch, master vol - I never blend, master tone (dying to try a tone styler . . .)

If the body is a plain red color then it would look well with a white pearloid pickguard. Similarly, if you could see the figured top through the red color then a plain white pickguard would help make the figures stand out. Just my $0.02

I am going with black. That P with the Geddy Lee neck looks awesome. The only thing I would do different would be adding a chrome pickgaurd cover, but that is just me because I love them.
