FIFA World Cup 2014

Come on. Baseball covers just about everything. It doesn't "rely" on power. It helps, yes. But it doesn't rely on it.

Was Jose Canseco the most skilled athlete? The pitchers used to be average size guys, now they are bigger and bigger. Look at the average height of rookie pitchers. Nothing resembling the average man.

You really do need to watch rugby (gotcha mohawk)Gaelic football but more especially Hurling.

The reason the schools created two separate sports, Rugby football and Association football, was because they could not agree on the rules. The thing they couldn't agree on wasn't the use of hands or not. They couldn't agree on the "hacking" of the player with the ball. The association football proponents wanted a game based on skill. The rugby football proponents wanted a game based on brute strength, where the player with the ball could be hacked and tripped. Are there world class rugby players who are 5'4" and 140 lbs.?

BAH!!!!

"Football is about skill more than any other sport and being a big guy is a disadvantage"

My point is that there are other games which rely on incredible levels of skill and being big or small is not necessarily a disadvantage.

I agree there are other sports that require a lot of skill, but not like futebol. You used rugby as an example but are there short, skinny rugby players who are world class or even professional? The game requires size and strength.
