Im on the fence about going to school for recording or composing. Since i work full time it will be hard to devote 100% to a full time school at this point. Anyway, do you think going to school will get you any better foot in the door for composing music for film/tv. That's the direction i would really like to go but im not sure if i should take on the huge school loans that i might need to get to that point.
I know it would certainly expedite the learning process but would school in either the recording and or composing vein get me there any better than just learning the programs on my own and getting lucky with contacts?
What would you suggest for someone wanting to go down the post production road without having to do the generic sound guy job?
Is school worth it in this regard?
