And yes, I think a little 15 watt tuber is a fantastic idea. Would love to have a little livingroom, backporch jam amp like that. Who says small has to mean cheap and lacking tone....it most certainly does not.

Ya i have been busy with the new baby. 3 kids now is wearing me out!LOL mostly been lurcking around the ubass thread.

I think the 15 watt amp at 2.3 pounds is crazy great! I have always wanted a LB30 and was hoping to get one used one day on a good deal. But i think i will have to wait and see what this thing does! Or just get both!LOL

Not much difference. Low wattage, small transformers. It's a tube practice amp made in china. The only difference is the marketing.

The CTM300 is like no other tube amp on the market.


One has to play one to get the full understanding of where bass tube amps are going. In a short time Ashdown will be the # 1 Bass tube amps in the game.









My above comments has nothing at all to with me being an Ashdown endorser.

Love seeing more all-tube options!

I was really excited about the LB30 head until I finally played it.... Cool amp, but not what I was expecting. Very bright and the eq wasn't very intuitive.

Hearing that these new amps have a different preamp has me curious again!

There seems to be a conflict in the weight that's specified in the article:

"The CTM 15 surprises all with its tiny (H:140mm, 5.1”; W:235mm, 9”; D:155mm, 6.10”; 5Kg, 2.3lbs) but mighty appearance and its tone and power; sure to put a smile on the face of even the most discerning bass player."

I would believe the 5 Kg, which is about 11 lbs. - still pretty darn good!

Seriuosly, whatever year who cares, I have been in many music stores that carry Ashdown gear and have never seen or heard about these two amps. Both intrigue me just as the Fender T100 and 300 did when they were launched. But I don't have the 1200-1500 bones for either of those so I'm hoping the Ashdown price point make it affordable. I'd love to have something for bass that is similar to the Orange Tiny Terror the guitards have available.

What:rollno: You may not dig the Streamliner, but saying a Streamliner sounds like a GKMB500 that sounds like a Markbass F1 that sounds like Glockenklang Blue Soul is, well, strange.

Now, if you are one who digs pushing an all tube power section into overdrive, you are right, no solid state amp of any topology can do that.

That all being said, the new Ashdown tube amps look very cool.

Well, I'm seeing only 427w, 300w, 200w, 100w, 30w and 15w..., (no 550) Still- that's a LOT of all tube choices!!!

Cannot wait to see the new 100 and 15 watters in the flesh!!!
