No nothing wrong. That's completely normal with a passive tone stack EQ....bit of a different animal if you're used to a "normal" active style EQ.

Anybody able to suggest a good cabinet to go with the CMT 15? I don't know much about tube heads, but at only 15 watts, can I pair this with my Eden EX 112 ( 300 watts/ 4 ohms) and have a decent small rig. I've always thought you needed compatible power ratings for heads and cabs.

Got my CTM15 hooked up to a VS112 and a VS115, love how it sounds. when I first got the head I was running it into a TC electronics RS112, didn't sound nearly so good into that cab. As for power matching so long as your putting in less than the max rating of the cab and the Impedance is a match then your good to go.

Have not heard it, but Amazon has the Ashdown VS112-125 cab for less than $300.

The power rating of the cab is a max input power. Efficiency is more the issue with pairing a cab with a small amp.

Some Low-Wattage Tubesters have been happy with the Ashdown 112 cab.

True! These CTM 15's are definitely not short on the mids. It has more midrange than any passive tone stack bass amp I've played. My ear might be tricking me some since it is bottom shy IMO. Fun, fun little amp. I love to just crank the nuts out of this head.

Man I just got done plugging the CTM 15 into my Ampeg 810. What a hoot! Great, great and LOUD tone. I've mainly been playing it though a 115 and even my 215 on occasion but through the 810 it really got me grinning. That's all, carry on.

I just got my CTM-15 from GC and have had no end of fun trying it out. Presently running it through an Ampeg 15 Portoflex cab and it sounds great. I am hoping to try some lighter portable cabs to pair with it, and have appreciated the comments on this thread. My instructor recommended I try it with a Markbass 12 as I would likely be using it for folky acoustic settings. I like the idea of pairing it with an Ashdown cabinet. The 12s I saw on their website seemed quite heavy if I recall. Overall though it is a great little amp and I look forward to finding the right cab.

I have paired it through a myriad of different cabs (dark, bright, neutral) and have yet to find one I don't like with it.

So, the CTM 15 is perfect for my studio. I'm probably going to be getting the CTM100 later this year for a great gig rig. Pretty stoked to have a nice tube amp again.

I decided that I wasn't going to buy an off the shelf cab, so I found a guy named Rick in Illinois who makes really awesome stuff. He makes a nice looking tone ring cab, but I decided to go with his Thiele cabs. his website is rawoods.com. I can't wait to get this rig together. I'm already thinking of having Rick build me a 212 or a 212 for a nice stack.

I find the CTM 15 sounds thin without enough bottom end. Ampeg SCR DI in front solves that, but I'd like to be able to get enough beef out of it without the Ampeg being essential.

Would a tube swap help? If so, what tubes would you folks recommend. I have thoughts of running a speaker level signal from the Ashdown into a DI box to feed some tubey tone to the house.

Looks like the standalone CTM-15 might be discontinued but I see a drop head version of it (with a 1x10) that looks pretty cool. Sort of like a micro version of the B-15.

The CTM is a great studio amp but I keep pondering about maybe getting something I can gig with. Guess I should try the CTM sometime. I always have PA support, so it might be enough for stage.
