Lots of clean tone to be had. Beautiful tube tone, but need to play with it more to really get a detailed description. Tons-o-bottom!

Got mine plugged in this morning. Going to be a great little amp for practice and living room jams. I will look forward to the speaker getting broken in but the tones I could get in few minutes were very pleasing.

I had a bit more time with my CTM15 earlier this week. Came back from playing my Stingray 5H with some acoustic guitar guys, which for the sake of this comment means I had the tone controls way whack from normal. Plugged the bass straight (with whack tone settings) into my CTM15 and it was pretty much tonal tube heaven. I can't wait to get some more alone time with it.

For my normal church gig I use a Tone Hammer DI and for a minute it thought about bringing my little Ashdown rig, stashing it off stage and putting a mic in front of it. Still might. Sounds pretty fun! The speaker is breaking in and what a difference.

So, if you want "living room volume" (different for everyone, granted)- you won't necessarily get the amount of tone and saturation you want. This setup works great in the studio, but is less flexible in terms of volume levels in a given environment.

It appears that Ashdown has recognized that with the new amplifiers. Independent gain and volume control. Sure, not the same as dialing in power-tube saturation, but it still makes them more flexible overall. It seems the eq is more deliberate for these types of scenarios, too. (cant say how it all works until I try one, of course!)

With the LB-30, has anyone else noticed the "odd" behavior (at least to me) of the volume control with the EQs? For example, if all knobs are turned to the left, turning the Volume to the right does not actually provide volume (yes, I've checked the Mute switch and both Inputs). On the flip side, the actual Volume knob can be all the way to the left, and you can create volume with each of the EQ knobs independently by turning them to the right, albeit with varying frequency responses. Interesting approach, but I was convinced for the first 10 minutes that my brand new amp was either broken, or the power tubes just took hella long to warm up.
