I bought one of these two years ago to keep at my Mom's place in Texas. It's beautiful and sounded perfectly fine, but the last trip down, something had happened with the neck, and I took it to a good repairman who said that it would need, at minimum, a new fret job to make it playable again, and that it probably wasn't worth the expense. The only problem with Squires that I have found is inconsistent necks. If you have a good one, count your blessings. I'm still deciding whether to build a higher-end version of it from parts, or use a '50s Classic lacquer finish P and re-neck it.

Anyway, congrats on getting a good one, and keep it humidified! They are, to my mind, the most beautiful Squier model I have ever seen!

Really digging the neck on it and tonnes, can't see needing to upgrade anything on it really, if I come across another good deal on a used one might pick it up to mod but my plan is to rock this one stock.

IMHO, that is THE best color combination of pickguard, slab color & fretboard and inlays. And I don't buy into that line about a Pbass being a "one trick pony" because that one trick is perfect for so many different things!

30 bucks will get you some nice 500k pots to throw in it. Best, cheapest upgrade you can do on a squire. You wont regret it.

That doesn’t sound right to me unless you’re talking about a level and recrown. All new frets?...I’d get a second opinion on that.
