Finally! New Peavey bass heads, and MINI!

In the features text. It now says "midi footswitch input", but I swore it just said midi input yesterday, maybe I'm wrong. Doesn't matter either way. I'd love to see a pic of the footswitch. I hope it's not too big and heavy. That's what I love about my TC RH450 footswitch - it's kind of skinny and fairly easy to throw in a case.

Sounds a bit like the old Waves MaxxBass plugin - if so, it's a great way to get a deep sound out of a small rig. A bit of a cross between a Thumpinator and bass boost, not sure but it might synthesize harmonics above the fundamental as well.

It is the same setup on the Max112 and Max115 combos. I have a Max112 and love it. The MiniMax cold be perfect for me.

Same here. I use the Max II 112 on all my upright gigs, and to be able to just plug in and have tuner, nice EQ, an input that has a high enough impedance for piezo pickups, and DI in one box with enough wattage to hang with a drummer is fantastic.

That said, the 112 is just on the borderline of things I am cool carrying for long distances, and I would have gotten the 110 if it had the DI output. I think mine is going to get a Neo speaker here shortly.

The power rating is 1000w continuous on paper, but that's what it will do full sine wave. The measurable burst power output when playing music is 1500w...into 4 ohms.

The Headliner 1000 looks very interesting to me as well. 1000 watts in a 10lb package, rackmountable? VERY interesting, IMO.

I bought one about two years ago & am planning on getting another in a month or two to use as a "poor mans", budget" 400w 2x12. It does have a great sound

That MiniMax could fill my requirement for a backup to my Portaflax 500...will have to check one out. If it's anything like my old Peavey combo it can survive falling off a truck on the interstate at 90 mph in the middle of a nuclear blast while children curse at it and run fine.

I have one of the 'consumer' hardware units, and its a REALLY cool thing. I wish I had gotten a 107 when they were still around (and blowing them out for really cheap). I use mine on my Alesis powered monitors instead of having a sub, and it is pretty amazing at how good it works. It would also be a great fit for those who use a smaller PA but want to have some deep presence in the front end without carrying subs.

It would be VERY advantageous to anyone with small/compact speakers that don't go very deep, or a practice amp that you want lows from but obviously can't do them.

I also very much hope that Peavey doesn't have a TC-style compression/power management thing happening.

Yeah, it's light enough to schlep for gigs where you can park your car close to the entrance, but heavy enough to start to get to be a pain if you have to park around the block or something. I have a folding cart for it, but dropping a couple pounds with a neo speaker would be really nice.

Mini Max head is $300. 112 cab is $150. Head has different power section than combo, so no 4 ohm power boost on the combo. Anyway, wanted the mini stack to sell for $600.

Peavey (Crest) is the only amp maker with Waves MaxxBass in the power amp DSP, but they do not say MaxxBass for their Bass amps. It may be an analog to MaxxBass and may be carefully licensed by Waves. I hope it's up and up with Waves.

In any case, MaxxBass does work great. It is not without coloration for those who listen carefully. And if Peavey can compare what they release in the Power AMP DSP to their Bass amp feature - then I expect it to work very well and at an outstanding value and a good reason to upgrade.
