Finally starting my OWN project

Nothin'. Potluck sleeps.

I might respond to a CL ad for a country/folk guy, this week is super-busy personally, so it may have to wait.

Jammed on Sunday with the Fiddler and a gypsy jazz guitarist. He was amazing and I LOVED his voice. I mean, interesting tone for days, intonation, attack, singing during lead parts, all of that. Not sure if we'll do it again, but playing pickup with a walking line was fun. Those chords are weird though; my favorite I-V was not working at all. I suppose I didn't embarrass myself too badly, but it's hard to know. They want me to come out to an open jazz jam tonight, so I guess not that bad after all.

Have started tweeting (@remydaad) my band stuff to avoid TB attitudes. Feel free to follow. A tad more clever and less wordy (both outstanding side-effects) than this thread.

DUDE, I told you so...
That Fiddler IS in your corner.
DO NOT
LET HIM slip away, waiting on that keytard.

yeah, coupled with BassCliff's observation...

I haven't seen any evidence here in person, but I can tell you that scarcely a day goes by without at least one Stéphane Grappelli track on the jazz station. IMO, it is *way* easier to find a rhythm guitarist who can do the Django thing than to find a fiddler who can pull off Grappelli...

And yeah, some of Grappelli's best stuff was done with Oscar Peterson, but I promise you there are other pianists out there...
