Finding A Tube Driven Pedal To Help SS Amp Tone

Hi All!
I am looking for a pedal that uses a tube to help color my Solid State amp tone a little better. I was in a store trying out fuzz pedals and believe I used a green russian big muff reissue on an eden tube amp. I loved it! (of course) bought the pedal and now am thinking I really loved the tubey-ness of the amp! However I already have a solid state amp that I am not looking to totally ditch.

So I am looking for a tube driven pedal that I can put into my FX return loop (to bypass my onboard preamp). I was hoping to find one for under $150, or even better under $100. I don't care if its been used and abused. Just hoping to get some nice tube tone lows on the cheap.

I may be considering buying a behringer vt999 tube monster and modding it for bass if there are step by step instructions.

Gear:
-Passive old epiphone by gibson rockbass
-(I am building another passive bass based off the luna white neo with a mini hum)
-Behringer BXL3000 ultrabass amp
-EHX switchblade pro & green russian reissue pedals
-I play mostly rock with a pick

Wow thanks for the quick reply guys! Which sushi box would you guys recommend? or is it too early to tell? Ive heard some great things on this forum about the night owl, but i think thats a little out of my price range! I might try picking up an ART tube MP and trying a different tube in it. Running my pedals into the ART and then the art into my FX return to bypass the Behringer head. Thoughts on that?

I don’t have any experience with the ART but I do have a experience with a lot of other Tube Preamps/DI’s here: Tube Preamp/DI Sound Samples — Noble, Oracle, P-15, Super Stack, REDDI, Tonecraft, Fatboy...
