I hope this is not to far out, but this is what I am trying to achieve. I have the Ibanez SR506, GK Backline 600, and Dr. Bass cabs. I am trying to get that modern contemporary gospel sound, with that tight mid range punch. I do very little slapping, any suggestions on the amp or bass settings. Still trying to find that sweet spot. I know there are more of you that have more experience than I so I just want to pick some brains to help me along the way.

Fine Tuning My Sound, Help!!!

How are you setting the amp and controls on the bass now? And what does it (your bass) sound like now, compared to the sound you want? And are you trying to achieve the sound in your home or in the church?

What kind of strings are you currently using? Amp settings can only do so much, and if you're starting off with the wrong sound at the instrument, you're just not going to get where you want to be. For instance, stainless steel strings will give you more of a midrange punch than nickels.
