New Standard LaScala. Love it. Trying not to over do the practice. Physical limits = short spurts. Think I'm using proper technique, age and physical shape are my challenges. Thanks again for the clip.

this may not be true, but it would help to know where your local area is! you may be able to find a teacher willing to drive to you (i've done it for students). there is really no substitute for taking lessons. even a few just to get started would be way more worthwhile than a video or website.

I only took basic lessons in elementary school.

That made every piece of music I played such a struggle. I was so confused with everything up until about 7th grade when I got a teacher.

The good thing about that was that I was using my ear more than most of the other bassists in our orchestras. I didn't know some of the notes so I just listened to them and played them back. It's still one of the things I'm best at on the upright.
