Okay, I know I read TB too much. I leave it up all day at work and ever since I upgraded to Firefox 1.5, it crashes about 5 times a day. It seems to be related to TB.

Paul, do you have any idea why this would happen?

  2. No problems, and I'm running 1.5.... What OS are you using?

I'm using Microsoft XP professional at work. I've been hesitant to upgrade at home due to the reliability at work. I guess it could be something else, but it definitely seems to be related.

I've been using FF 1.5 for a few weeks (maybe longer) at home and at work (XP Home edition) with no problems.

Try to re-install it at work and see what happens.

Alright, I'll upgrade it at home and see if I see the same behavior. With all the firewall stuff at work, there could be some strange interaction there causing that won't happen at home.

Firefox's latest release for Windows is V1.0.7. Did you mean to say that you are using V1.0.5?

nope that would be me :bag:

you are correct. I downloaded a fresh copy of each and I guess I only reinstalled Thunderbird.

    I'm upgrading now :smug:

I've been using 1.5 for quite some time now, no problems...

I upgraded the forum software today, perhaps this will fix a glitch?

I've had problems with firefox 1.5 crashing, however NOT on talkbass. Perhaps the problem is just glitches in 1.5

I occasionaly have the problem that my TB layout is completely messed up. Avatars all over the place, a : ) smiley that looks like a sad one, the quote function icon replaced by the :d smiley, and so on. It lasts for a couple of days and then it goes away again.

I was having the same problem (Firefox 1.5, XP) yesterday, but something seems to have clicked between here and there because now everything works fine.

I've been free of crashes for about a week and a half, so whatever was jacked up seems to be corrected.

    Hurray!:hyper:
