Firewood or no?

I dont know if this is the place to post this but I'm sure I'll find out soon enough.
So I had a behringer 1x15 aluminum crap speaker die on me and since the cab was discontinued,I'm left with just a box and a crap tweeter. I'm not missing it. I got it for free and it lasted longer than I expected even with me running it wrong-8ohm cab and a Nitrobass head=barely as loud as a 150watt combo.
So i'm wondering if the box is worth putting another speaker into.It is a behringer after all,so i kno it's not that great,I doubt i'd be able to even trade it for a pack of smokes so i figured i might try to make chicken salad out of chicken **** and maybe come out ahead.
I'm trying to get as many 4ohm cabs as i can to run this Nitrobass head correctly.I love the amp alot,it does everything i need it to do.Plus i'm on a really low budget. So should i try to make the box work or start a bonfire with it? if i can make it work, how? any suggestions or links to threads that could help would be appreciated.
Thanx,
LoudFartyRig

Check your local Craigslist for an appropriate bass speaker and buy low. If it doesn't work out, you're not out anything but the cost of the speaker.

Does the cab have a crossover that works?

You can disconnect the tweeter if you don't like it. I have a 15" combo with no tweeter and can get lots-o-sounds out of it.

I still have my old Behringer 115 cab in the shed. Same deal, busted speaker. I've been trying to flog it for about 3 years. Nobody seems to want it. Probably a good indication that the enclosure is not worth the tinkering required to fix it.

To be fair if it hadn't blown I'd still be using it. I never had an issue with that cab and it was fine for 6 years.
