First bass eye-opener for me.

Well, I'm 33 years old, sitting next to my new Fender J-Bass (4-string probly last years model, its so beat up I think Guitar Center was going to throw it in the trash.) and my neighbors tricked out Fender P-Bass(mid 90's 4 string)... no clue how to play either of them, but they look so cool. Im on week 2 of self training, got a book from guitar center and a whole lot of downloaded stuff, something that says that i can be a bass player in 28 days... ok we will see...

Anyway Im super lucky... neighbor was a cover band bass player, hates musicians, so he said he will help, my wife's best friend's husban is a bass player who hates bars, go figure. He said he will help. (I'm going to try and separate him from his 5 string for later use :hyper: )

I worked in bars for years and love the sound of live music. Then one day... my ears met Les Claypool/Primus. Mix the two and I'm on a mission to acheive greatness with a bass...

What can you all help me with? Nothin really, I just like bass and so do all of you... Thanks for a great forum, Im off to read this forum til my eyes hurt like my fingers do. :bassist:
Send any help you all would be willing to offer... Thank you all.
