Despite its mirthful tone, I am serious. He's ahead of the game by starting on a five-string if he ever intends to play one. In many ways, it's easier to play than a four-string, and is 20 percent more versatile.

I just didn't want the OP to walk away with the mistaken impression that 5 strings are inherently superior, as you jokingly said earlier.
